Chapter nineteen: Love is the only language

"Hales..",

Sam said in a soft voice. Still with head down.

She realised he was crying.

"Sam, what's  wrong. Look at me."
She pulled his chin up.

She froze.

Sam still had blood on his face. A big bandage all over the forehead. Big scars from the glass pieces. Even his lips were cut by a glass. And his hands were still sore and bleeding.

" SAM! What happened to you!  look at me! Are you okay"

"SAM WHAT HAPPENED?!", she shaked his body.

"I am so sorry Hales. I am so damn sorry.", he started sobbing and just collapsed into her arms.

She was speechless. She didn't know what happened or how. All she knew was that Sam was hurting.

"Shhh.. its okay. It's gonna be okay.", she tried to console him.

"Come inside", she told him.
"No, Stay here. With me. Please", he begged.

"What happened ", she asked.

"It was an accident. I was drunk and I a car."

She stood there, shocked. She could barely believe that this was not a nightmare.
She tried to keep calm

"You are okay?"

" I am now. I didn't know if I would be Haley. When I hit that tree and i felt my head bump on that streering wheel, I didn't know if there was anything more left for me. More than that, I didn't know if I would see you again. The only thing I could imagine was how you would be if Something happened  to me.  I was so scared. So terrified. And lying on the hospital bed, O just thought, if I could just wake up, I would walk over to you... and tell you how much I need you and how much I want you . And how I never told you  how much I love you and nothing else matters. "

Sam had tears falling down his face.

For the first time, Haley saw him bursting into tears.

His voice was so low. He had no strength. But he kept going on.

"Haley I love you so much. I am completely, ridiculously and insanely in love with you. I can't breathe without you, I can't sleep without you and I damn hell can't live without you. You're  all I need. I don't remember when I fell in love with you, but when you hold my hands, all I know is I never wanna let go. I love you Haley James and I needed to say it now. And I will say it forever. And I am so sorry. For everything."

Haley couldn't hold back the tears. She hugged him tight in that darkness.

"Oh my god. I am so glad you are okay", she whispered as her voice cracked.

Nathan and Brooke watched from the car.

"I should leave", sam pulled out of the hug

Haley insisted Sam to stay.

"No, Stay", she said. Holding his hands.

And he did.

Nathan and Brooke left.

And they came went inside. She took care of Sam. Took him to her room and laid him down.

"You want something to eat?", she asked.
"No."

"Don't leave me alone Hales", he said as she pulled her hand.

"I am going nowhere.", she assured him, sitting right next to him on her bed.

Then as he fell asleep ,she sat awake the whole night, holding his hands.

"I love you too. Gosh, I love you so much", she whispered as she kissed his hand.

He was deep in his sleep to hear it.
