A/N: I was going to write earlier but I had zero motivation.
Though he has made some recovery, Jeremy wasn't allowed to be released from the hospital yet.
However, he and Michael were finally able to convince the staff to let them leave for a few hours, considering they haven't been on a date in forever.
They decided to do it this Saturday, which was a few days away, but Michael had school and Jeremy still had schoolwork to do.
Neither of the two were really interested in really fancy dates, the atmosphere was too serious for their childish antics.
So. Michael knew just where to take Jeremy.
Now, all he had to do was wait until Saturday.
-
Despite his condition recently becoming worse, Jeremy's dreams were getting less and less intense. Maybe he was just used to them, or maybe Michael was there to protect him more often after Dr. Canigula was fired. Either way, not having nightmares every time Jeremy closed his eyes was nice.
Michael entered Jeremy's room, realizing that he forgot to leave his backpack in the car. He slid it off onto one of the plastic chairs and sat next to Jeremy.
"I am so done with school," Michael groaned. Jeremy replied, "Tell me about it, my work is piling up and I haven't finished the work from last month."
The boys cuddled and talked about random things, as per usual. It was Thursday, so the boys had two more days before their date. It wasn't really that big of a deal, but they used to go on them all the time and haven't for well over a month.
Eventually, Michael had to go, but he was pretty reluctant. He always was when he had to leave Jeremy, fearful that something bad would happen, which wasn't unlikely.
Michael kissed Jeremy goodbye, already dreading the long school day ahead.

During lunch time the next day, the door to Jeremy's room opened.
There, Rich and Jake stood, holding a bag with various fast food for Jeremy. Their visit was surprising, considering they only visited once or twice during his visit.
"Shouldn't you guys be at school?"
Jake walked closer to Jeremy, handing him the bag of food. "Nah, we decided to take a day off today, there won't be too much make-up work, so we didn't bother going."
This wasn't shocking to Jeremy, he would actually expect them to take more days off than they have already.
Jeremy, whilst eating some fries, started talking about the events that happened, taking breaks to pause and grasp onto his emotions, getting slightly overwhelmed. When he was done, both Rich and Jake's jaws were agape.
Jake was the first to speak up. "I might expect that from one or two other people in school, but Christine?" He was very obviously appalled.
Rich, on the other hand said, "Alright, where's her room? I'm gonna teach her a lesson."
Jeremy laughed at his friend, not giving him the information. At some point, the subject was changed and so were Jeremy's emotions as he talked about how he was going on a date with Michael.
He couldn't help himself, even though he didn't know where Michael was taking him. He knew that Rich and Jake would understand, though. They were in an equally as lovey-dovey relationship, to be fair.
The three talked and talked, having a lot to catch up on. Michael walked into the room a few hours later, pretty surprised to see Rich and Jake as well.
Soon enough, Rich and Jake had to go, leaving Jeremy and Michael alone.
Michael had decided to spend the night at the hospital with his boyfriend, considering he was allowed to now.
They were both pretty exhausted, so they fell asleep pretty early after watching a few movies on Netflix.
-
Despite falling asleep considerably early, Michael and Jeremy didn't wake up until it was past noon. It was nothing unusual for them, or at least Michael, considering Jeremy still was afraid of falling asleep a lot of the times.
The couple were cleared to leave the hospital around 3. Jeremy was able to walk again, but he still limped slightly, so he brought his crutches in case.
Jeremy, despite waking up just a few hours ago, fell asleep in the passenger seat of the car, since the destination was over an hour away.
Michael pulled up to the building, gently nudging Jeremy awake.
Jeremy groaned, groggily opening his eyes. His tired state didn't last long, Jeremy happened upon a childlike fit of excitement when he saw where he was. The aquarium.
Neither Jeremy or Michael had been since they were kids, but Michael knew how much Jeremy loved aquatic animals.
The aquarium has added several new exhibits since the boys have last visited, including a dolphin exhibit.
Jeremy practically squealed with delight as Michael told him this, he loved dolphins a considerable amount.
Jeremy was actually bouncing with joy when Michael bought their tickets, which made Michael giggle at the boys cuteness.
He and Jeremy held hands as they both looked through the exhibits in awe.
They got a few weird looks, either from the two holding hands or Jeremy's limp, but they didn't let it get in the way of their fun.
Jeremy took to pointing at some of the uglier fish, jokingly telling Michael, "look, it's you!" Michael playfully shoved the boy, who blushed in return.
Jeremy sprinted as fast as he could to the large dolphin tank. His smile was the widest it's been in months, and Michael was so proud of his boyfriend's improvement.
Michael wrapped his arm around Jeremy, kissing his cheek.
Michael and Jeremy both wished this moment would last forever.
A/N: Wow, a chapter with minimal angst??
