As much as Jeremy loved Hanukkah, he didn't enjoy spending this much time with his family.
As Jeremy talked about previously being in a relationship with Michael, the adults coaxed him that they supported him. It would've been believable if they didn't hide behind forced sympathetic smiles and the glint of anger in his eyes.
He just didn't tell them about his little thing with Michael currently, as they might convince his dad to not let him hang out with Michael. This outcome was doubtful, but Jeremy wasn't going to take any chances.
Every day, as soon as Jeremy woke up, he texted Michael. He relished in the fact he had the ability to be clingy again, and so did Michael.
After they had a conversation over text, they determined whose house to go to that day.
Neither of them were ready to tell the other how in love they were, because that would lead to them wanting to make it public.
When Michael said that he would come over to Jeremy's house again, Jeremy had an idea.
He ran to his hand-me-down desk, turning his desktop computer on.
Jeremy delved into the depths of Google, jotting down information periodically to answer his question. Once he was satisfied with his notes, he folded it and placed it on a shelf.
He'd tell Michael later, but for now he just wanted to spend time with the boy.
"Michael!" Jeremy ran up and hugged the boy as soon as he knocked on the door, despite him having a key. Michael laughed at Jeremy. "Someone's excited to see me," he hugged Jeremy back tightly.
"I missed you though," Jeremy spoke quickly and quietly whilst blushing.
"You dork, I was here yesterday!"
"Did you hear your puns the other day? You say I'm the dork, okay."
Michael gasped in horror. "Excuse you sir, but those were very eggcelent puns. There's plenty more where that came from, I will not hesitate to unleash more."
Jeremy smacked Michael for the pun he slipped in, but he was still laughing. "Let's go downstairs, doofus."
Michael obliged, walking down to the basement hand in hand with Jeremy.
They sat on the couch, and Jeremy couldn't help but to stare at the beautiful human next to him.
"What's wrong? Do I have something on my face or am I ju-"
"S-sorry you're just so pretty you're actually the cutest," Jeremy looked down in embarrassment, his thoughts racing.
"Oh o-okay," Michael hesitated for a moment before leaning in and closing the gap between him and Jeremy.
Of course Jeremy kissed back. It wasn't the first time they kissed in the past few days, so it was normal for them.
For the most part, they were fine with not being labeled as a couple, even though they did everything a couple would, give or take.
The only thing they haven't done was go on dates in public in fear of someone from school seeing.
Rumors spread like wildfire due to a certain group of people in Michael and Jeremy's grade.
They knew if they saw Jenna Rolan in public, they'd be done for. She was actually really sweet and down-to-earth, but she could not keep a secret if her life depended on it.
Therefore, Michael Jeremy usually just ordered food, played video games, and cuddled. They were perfectly content with this.
Michael went to the kitchen and brought the rest of the brownies down at Jeremy's request. He was actually thoroughly surprised that there were any left, especially considering Jeremy usually ate whatever he could find.
The two finished off the brownies as a movie played in the background, but they were only paying attention to each other.
They got lost in the warmth of each other's arms and eventually lost track of time.
Jeremy had to leave soon, but he remembered the notes he took.
Michael was almost out the door before Jeremy ran up and grabbed his arm, severely out of breath.
"Wait, Michael. I need to tell you something important. Seriously, this can't wait.
With that, Michael walked back inside.
A/N: Guys I actually have a plan for next chapter and it will probably be longer than the more recent ones. It'll be up later.
