Alyssa's P.O.V
"So, are you going to Darren's party tomorrow?"asked Shannon. We were in the cafeteria sharing a mini box of pizza. She played with the tip of her blonde hair, making me notice the highlights on them.
"What did you do to your hair?" I asked, completely ignoring her earlier question. Rowan snorted beside me.
"Oh, I met this amazing hair stylist in San-"
"Are you going to the party, Alyssa?" Rowan interrupted.
"Hey! I was sayi-" she started but stopped seeing the pointed look on Rowan's face. Then she faced me, the realization apparent in her eyes. "You sneaky little..."
I held up my hands in defence. "You were the one who got distracted. And who throws a party on the first week of school?"
"Obviously, Darren Roberts." Rowan replied blankly. I stuck my tongue out at her.
Incase you're probably wondering, Darren Roberts is the school's richest and most popular guy. He has short chocolate brown hair, baby blue eyes that always seemed a bit too intense and he was on the football team. The guy's the whole package to be honest.
Not that I care or anything...
"It's a welcome back to school party." said Shannon. I rolled my eyes. Welcome back to school my ass. More like 'let's all get drunk off our asses for no apparent reason party.' I chuckled and took a sip out of my Sprite, earning me weird glances from the two of them.
"So you're going?" she prodded.
I bit my pizza slice. "Yeah, whatever." Shannon squealed and side hugged me.
"Thank God." Rowan muttered. I raised an eyebrow at her. "Look no offense, but your social life is as existent as dinosaurs. And that's saying a lot."
"You know just 'cos you say 'no offense,' doesn't mean it's not offensive. And seriously, dinosaurs? That means I literally don't have a social life." I fumed.
"Hey you said it yourself, not me." she smirked.
"We are coming to pick your clothes after school." Shannon decided.
"I can pick my own clothes Shannon." I replied, taking my fourth slice. What? It was a really good pepperoni pizza.
"We are coming to pick your clothes after school." she repeated giving me a look that said 'don't argue, it's final'. I knew better than to argue with her especially when it came to situations like this, so I just continued with my pizza.
Rowan leaned over to my side and whispered in my ear, "Sometimes she scares me." I nodded in agreement.
"I heard that!" Shannon sing-songed making us all laugh.
Our friendship was weird but strong and I loved our bond, even though we all had our differences, both physical and behavioural.
I always thought Shannon was the most beautiful. She had these eyes, which were this cross between forest green and brown and Rowan and I had these plain brown orbs. Her personality, total extrovert. She hardly missed parties and she never maintained long relationships with guys. Presently she wasn't dating anyone that I knew of, but after the party... who's to say?
And Rowan. Rowan was the only brunette in our group, and the only brunette I could tolerate, really. She was always calm and collected. I honestly can't remember a time I ever saw her flustered, or embarrassed, unlike Shannon and I. She gave the best advices and could be really sarcastic if she wanted to.
Then there's me. Loaded with sarcasm, cynicism and a constant craving for food, I'm your total weird package, complete with the basics. I like to think I'm a combination of both girls. I have blonde hair from Shannon and brown eyes from Rowan. Except the fact that I'm awfully antisocial.
