Alyssa's P.O.V
"Man I'm so borrreeedd!" I stressed closing my chemistry textbook.
"Ditto," agreed Shannon also her closing books.
I was at Shannon's house, studying- or rather trying to study. My brain is rejecting practically everything educative I'm trying to put in it.
I need a break.
"Tsk, tsk. If you want a future, you gotta study." Rowan sang. I picked a pillow off the bed and aimed it at her, but missed hitting Shannon's nightstand instead.
"Hey, watch it. This room is precious." Shannon warned. I got off the bed and turned on the TV in her room.
"What're you doing? This is study time! No distractions." Rowan complained.
"We're done studying, right Shannon?"
"Hell yeah. If I read one more line, my brain will go on overdrive."
"Well I'm still studying."
"Good for you." I smiled. She rolled her eyes and continued reading.
"So what are we watching?" asked Shannon. I tapped my chin thinking on how to distract Rowan.
"I'm thinking... Netflix..." I paused noticing her look up and back down. "Orange Is The New Black." I concluded putting on the show.
"Cool, I'll go get snacks." Shannon nodded, leaving the room.
"And bring some Cheetos!" I called after her. Cheetos was Rowan's favorite snack.
"Seriously, Alyssa?" Rowan huffed.
"What?" I smiled innocently.
Shannon burst in immediately with the snacks full in her hands. "Let's begin this motherfucker!"
"Season 3, yeah?" I asked, collecting some snacks. Immediately I heard the sound of a book being flung away.
Mission accomplished.
"Scoot over. And hand me the Cheetos." Rowan ordered squeezing herself in our middle.
"Anything else, feisty?" I smirked.
"Oh shut it. You know how much I love Stella Carlin." she countered, stuffing her face full with Cheetos.
So we binge watched the whole season, us three future less girls.

I met dad when I got home.
He was sitting in the living room watching TV like he even had the rights to do that after leaving Ivan and I for days. Thank God he didn't bring Christine or else I would have lost it right there.
I made sure to make a hell of noise when I got in, just to make him aware of my the fact that I was back and in a pissy mood. I knew he was gonna act like he still controlled shit around this house, 'cos he still 'payed the bills and owned the house'. I'm sure he doesn't even know mom sends us money.
"Where have you been?" he asked, just like I thought. I paused on the stairs, turning slightly.
"So you care now?" I retorted, anger evident in my voice.
"What's that supposed to mean? And don't use that tone on me, Alyssa."
"I can use whatever tone I want to on you, so don't tell me what the fuck to do. You come home after days and you're asking where I've been?"
"I'm your father, I have the rights to ask you these questions." he said calmly.
"Bullshit. You lost that right years ago so don't act like you fucking care about me now." I realised my voice was breaking. I couldn't let him see me cry. "I've got to go." I choked out and ran up the stairs.
