Alyssa's P.O.V
The weekend went by fast enough after the party. Ivan was right though, dad was nowhere near all through. This isn't the first time it's happening. To be honest, there were times we didn't even see him more than thrice a week, highest five, and it's mostly in the mornings when he comes back from Christine's and needs fresh, clean clothes.
I swear, if wearing dirty laundry wasn't some sort of abomination or something, I don't think he'd come home at all.
Real talk.
And I guess I should already be used to his constant absence but sometimes it just sucks to know he ditched us for that ugly whore, Christine.
I honestly don't know what he sees in that bitch. She is low quality, I tell you.
Her pale blonde hair looks like something off a Bratz doll and it's a wonder how she breathes with the amount of make up she puts on. Don't even get me started on her dressing mode. She wears clothes that are two sizes small and I'm not sure if that's her attempt at being sexy, or if she's just trying to re-live her teenage years because she couldn't do it then, but it is a major turn off. She is a 32 year old woman trying to live the life of an 18 year old girl. If that isn't sad, I don't know what is.
Now, I'm not sure which is more pathetic; her attempts at a younger life, or my dad actually falling for it.

"What do you do when you see a hot guy?" Shannon yelled.
"You flaunt it!" I replied.
"And what do you do if you see a real bitch?" she yelled again.
"You flip it!" I returned, raising my middle finger in the air.
"You guys are such dorks." Rowan chuckled. "I wonder why I hang out with you."
"Oh, do stop Shannon. We're embarrassing her." I drawled in a shitty british accent.
"Forgive us, Your Majesty." Shannon begged in an equally bad accent. Rowan just rolled her eyes at our childishness.
"So everything good at home?" I asked Rowan.
"Uhh, yeah, I took care of it. You know how my dad can be." she picked on her chicken salad.
"Douche!" Shannon coughed. I pushed her slightly.
Sometimes I wished my dad cared, but not like Rowan's. He wanted the perfect daughter. Good grades, clean records, and all that stuff for college. And because she was an only child, he made sure she was super secured, you know, curfew and shit. He doesn't even trust her to drive, which is why she always comes with either me or Shannon.
I remember how hard it was to convince him to let her go to her first party and sleepover with us. He'd even want the perfect boyfriend when he allows her start dating officially which is probably when she's 21, although she has dated a few guys... behind his back.
I'd rather have a Christine-loving, blissfully ignorant dad over that.
"Oh my..." Shannon whispered.
"God." Rowan completed in the same whisper.
"What?" I asked in confusion. Shannon held my head and turned it towards the direction they were both looking. Darren and Cameron were headed towards our table.
I closed my eyes. Maybe I was just hallucinating. They're probably just passing by. I'll just count to five. One... Two... Thr-
"Hello, ladies." Darren's voice cut through my counting. Damn!
"Hey, uhh... I'm sorry, but did you like, loose your way or something?" I asked after opening my eyes.
"Nope," he answered sitting next to me. "I'm at the right place."
"Yeah, this is it." Cameron grinned also taking a seat. I sent him a questioning glance.
"Okay, so to what do we owe this visit?" asked Rowan.
"I had a feeling someone would ask that. And I believe you both owe me names. You especially." he replied sending Shannon a suggestive look.
Oh, this was gonna be good...
"Rowan." she answered blankly and continued picking on her salad. See what I mean? She is almost never flustered!
"And you are...?" he dragged, his attention now reverted to Shannon who was blushing crazy and furiously tapping at her phone.
My phone and Rowan's beeped simultaneously. She sent a message to our group chat.
Shan•n: I'm having a serious internal breakdown!! DO SOMETHING!!
Rowan and I shared a look before I spoke up.
"Uhh... Shannon's kinda busy right now,"
"Yeah, but we'll be sure to let her know you dropped by." Rowan added.
"Tell her I think she's gorgeous." he grinned standing up. "I'll see you ladies later." Then he left. Cameron also stood up and followed, but not after stealing my fries. Literally everything!
"Hey! You monster!" I yelled, ignoring the weird glances I was getting.
"Bye Rowan. You too Shannon, I know you can hear me!" he called.
Shannon raised her head, immediately they had left, releasing a breath I'm sure she'd been holding since she spotted them.
"That was so embarrassing!" she mumbled. I chuckled and pulled her into a side hug.
"He did say you were gorgeous, so he doesn't think you're some sort of mute." I whispered.
"Bullshit. He only said that to make me feel better." she mumbled again.
"I never thought the day would come when you'd get flustered by a guy, usually it's always the other way around." mused Rowan. "So how does it feel to be on the other end?" she asked, stretching her fork towards Shannon's mouth, imitating a gameshow presenter.
The blonde swatted at the fork. " Shitty."
"Well, we all have our days, right Alyssa?"asked Rowan.
"Indeed we do." I laughed. "What do you do when you see a hot guy?"
"You get flustered !" Rowan yelled in reply, causing us to laugh, including Shannon.
"I hate you two."
"We love you more." I cooed, laughing, eating away, oblivious to the world.
