"It's just a dream ... just a bad dream .... Nightmare lang 'yun, take it easy." RJ whispered to himself the moment he became conscious again. He sat up and started wiping his eyes with the back of his hands. RJ then looked around and didn't see any sign of the little kid. He smiled and got up.
"I knew it ... panaginip lang." he muttered. RJ fixed his hair and walked into the kitchen to get a glass of water, only to see the little boy sitting on the counter eating a tub of ice cream with a spoon in his hand. RJ's mouth fell open and his eyes widened. Kirby raised his head and smiled at him.
"Daddy?" he asked and RJ screamed at the top of his lungs. He returned to the living room and saw Kristine's bag on the floor. He hastily picked it up and emptied its contents on the couch. RJ saw pictures, a few notebooks, a USB flash drive, and a note. He took the piece of paper and read the message on it.
RJ,
Iiwan ko sa'yo si Kirby not because I don't love him. Iiwan ko siya sa'yo dahil alam kong kaya mo siyang alagaan at kailangan mo siyang makilala. Remember nung sinabi mo sa akin dati na gusto mong maging Daddy para naman magkaroon ng value o meaning yung buhay mo? Oh ayan na, si God na ang gumawa ng paraan para mangyari yun. I'm sorry kung hindi ko sinabi sa'yo agad. Akala ko kasi enough na yun para gantihan ka sa ginawa mo. Pero kasi habang tumatagal, padalas na padalas ka niyang hinahanap. Nag-kwento ako sa kaniya ng mga kalokohan mo ... pinakita ko rin picture mo sa kaniya. Sabi niya parehas daw kayong pogi, totoo naman. RJ, Kirby loves you so much ... hope matutunan mo ding mahalin siya. I know na may doubts ka sa isip mo ... ipa-DNA test mo kung gusto mo pero for me, I'm pretty sure na anak mo nga siya. Richard gulped when he finished the letter. He felt a lump in his throat and his heart started beating fast.
"Where's Mommy?" Kirby's small voice was unmistakable. He turned around and saw the confusion on the little boy's face. RJ then reached for his phone and dialed the number of his friend.
"Hello Carter?" he asked.
"Yeah? Asan ka na bro? Ang dami ng girls dito oh!"
"I can't go."
"Why?"
"I have a situation here."
"What the ... come on now."
"I really can't."
"Bakit ba?"
"You know Kristine, right?"
"Yeah ... ex mo yun di ba?"
"Yes ... she came here ... may anak pala kami."

"Ma ... sa kanila na kawalan yun. Tsaka di pa naman pasado yung walang endo law na yun eh." Maine told her mom before entering the kitchen.
"Kahit na pa, Meng. Di ba employee of the month ka na dun? Bakit pati ikaw naalis pa?"
"Ganun talaga buhay, Ma. Ibabagsak ka nang paulit-ulit pero dapat babangon lagi. Don't worry ... maghahanap ako ng trabaho mamaya. And take note, hindi networking or fast food job ang hahanapin ko." Maine told her mom in a positive tone.
