"Is it still black?" RJ asked Maine before pointing at the bruise on the side of his face. She sighed and walked towards him to take a closer look.
"Medyo. Pero pawala naman na,mahigit isang araw na yung nakalipas eh. Ano kasing pumasok sa isip mo? Talino eh, suntukin ba yung tatay siyempre gaganti yun." Maine answered. RJ just sighed and sat on the chair behind him.
"I'm sorry that you had to see that," RJ said before looking out of the window. A thought then crossed his mind and he immediately turned his eyes to Maine.
"Last day mo na pala bukas di ba?" he asked and she nodded.
"Then we'll make it special."
"Special? Emeghed ... ano 'to? May pa send-off party? Ganoin?"
"Consider it as thanksgiving party ... for everything you did to me and Kirby. Let us make you feel special." RJ explained with a cheeky smile on his face.
"Jeske ... ehe ... enebe?"

Maine woke up the next day feeling weird and somewhat sad. And though she was aware of the fact that it was only a month since she started working for Richard and Kirby, the things they did together made her feel like she stayed with them for a least a year. After doing a bit of stretching, Maine tidied her bed for the very last time and packed most of her things before she even went out of the room. And as soon as she did, her nose was greeted by the mouthwatering smell of various cured meat being cooked at the same time.
Good Moooowwwwrrrrniiiing, Mommy Maine...
She looked down the stairs and saw Kirby standing at the bottom step. He gave her a sweet smile and held out a piece of paper with his drawing in it. Maine approached him and took the paper, only to see that it was a drawing of the three of them standing on a beach and watching the sunset on the horizon. Her heart fluttered when she saw the things Kirby wrote at the back of the paper.
Daddy ... Mommy Meyn ... Kirby
"Bakit ganito spelling ng pangalan ko? Tinamad ka na no? Alam mo naman spelling nung name ko di ba?" she asked. Kirby giggled, nodded and ran back to the kitchen without saying a word.
"Ibang klaseng bata talaga." Maine whispered to herself and looked at the drawing once more. She smiled and folded it inside the pocket of her shorts. She took a deep breath and walked into the kitchen, only to see a half-naked RJ standing in front of the stove and cooking breakfast meals. Maine's eyes widened and her eyes unwittingly traveled down the length of his back. She saw his back muscles, his bubble butt that looked so prominent even though he was wearing his favorite black boxers and his hairy legs that quickly upped the temperature in the kitchen through the roof. He looked so sexy that Maine felt like she was Anastasia Steele for a second and that he was her Christian Grey.
"Oh, you're awake. Good morning, love.' RJ greeted. Maine was too lost in her own personal fantasies that she didn't even notice he already turned around. RJ was wearing an apron to cover his front. But for Maine, it only made him look sexier.
"Good morning din. Um, maka-love ka naman parang sinagot na kita ah." Maine replied before going straight to her seat.
"That's just an expression, chill." He replied. A few moments later, RJ placed the breakfast meals he cooked in front of her and Kirby.
"I'll be back in a sec. I'll just put a shirt on para di ka ma-distract." He uttered then winked at Maine. RJ exited the kitchen and returned a few minutes later with a blue shirt on.
"Let's eat," RJ said. Maine nodded and started helping Kirby fill his plate.
--
RJ spent half of his breakfast time just staring at Maine and Kirby. He couldn't help but wonder what the coming days would be without her by his sight. In a short amount of time, RJ knew Maine schooled him on a lot of things. She never gave up on him even though he wanted nothing else in the world other than for her to fail and get fired. She showed him what a happy family should look like and how giving up on someone you love should never be an option. Maine taught him how to be responsible and how to care for other people aside from himself. And because of that, Richard knew he would be forever grateful to her.
"Bud, you're done eating?" he asked Kirby.
"Yes. I'm going to playyyy!!!" Kirby replied before he hopped off his chair and ran towards the living room. RJ then looked at Maine and saw her smiling at the little kid. The butterflies in his stomach went haywire at the sparkle that he saw in her eyes. He knew she was content and genuinely happy. And that, above everything else that already made her unforgivably beautiful, made him fall harder for her even more.
"Uh ... dessert time?" he asked. Maine turned her face towards him and smiled her pretty smile.
"Sige ba."
RJ stood up and left the dining room. He then grabbed the whole basket of bananas and brought it back to Maine.
"Eto Maine ... pwede mo na kainin yung saging ko." He said.
"HOMAYGAHD!"
"I mean yung saging na nabili ko kanina. Sorry naman. Try them, they're sweet ... long ... you know." He replied awkwardly. RJ blushed and placed the bananas on the table.
"Hala ... enebe, loko-loko ka talaga." She murmured and he flashed his boyish grin at her.
"So, anong balak mo ngayong araw?" she asked after taking a banana from the basket.
"Nothing extravagant ... I'm saving that for our date. Ngayon, chill lang ... movie marathon tapos home spa session. Gusto ko relaxed ka lang, hindi ka stressed." He replied.
"Okay, sobra-sobra na ngayon."
"Also, for today ... ako iyung servant ... you can make me do ANYTHING you want me to do. And by anything, I mean no holds barred."
"HOMAYYYY!! SHET! Wait lang naman!"
--
Maine spent the entire morning looking after Kirby. She tried to do some of her usual chores but RJ stopped her from doing so. Instead, he did them himself.
"Oh my gosh ... edi ikaw na ang maganda ... ikaw na ang may mahabang buhok sa ano ... ikaw na ang nanalo." Cherry said through the phone after Maine explained to her what was happening.
"Jusko, para na nga akong lalagnatin sa kaniya eh. Sige na, mamaya na lang ulit."
"Okay, enjoy!"
"Gaga. Bye!"
"Bye!"
A few minutes after ending the call, Kirby approached Maine and hugged her tightly. She closed her eyes and hugged him back.
"I love you Mommy Maine," he said sweetly and pulled away from her.
"I love you too, Baby Kirbs." She replied.
Eh ako? Love mo din ba ako? ...
Maine froze when she heard that voice. She looked and saw RJ grinning at them. He was wearing an apron, board shorts and nothing else. Kirby then ran away from them and returned to where he was a couple of moments ago.
"Hoy, tumigil ka nga. Bakit wala ka na namang damit? Jusko."
"Um, Ma'am Maine. May iuutos po ba kayo?" RJ asked ignoring her question.
"Anakan mo ako ay este ... um, mag-suot ka nga nang damit ... please." she responded. RJ grinned and walked away from her. Maine let out a sigh of relief and looked up at the sky to say a quick prayer.
"Lord ... alam kong last day ko na dito ... kaya po ba nilalapit niyo ako sa tukso? Kayo talaga ... binigay niyo jackpot agad. Ang lakas ko sa inyo, pero please hinay-hinay lang po sa tukso ... marupok po kasi ako .... ehe."
