Maine followed RJ inside the house. Her eyes widened at the glorious interior of his place. She looked around and saw the gold-themed design that made everything look even more expensive.
"Woah." She whispered. A few seconds later, they reached his living room.
"Sit." He told her and so Maine did. She took a deep breath to calm herself down.
"Where's your CV?" RJ asked. Maine hastily opened her folder and gave him a copy. The next few moments were then spent with him reading her curriculum vitae. Maine sat there and waited anxiously for him to say anything. She kept her eyes on his face, trying to imagine what he was thinking of.
"Please say anything .... Kahit ano ... I need the money ... please ...." She whispered to herself. Richard then looked at her and Maine felt an inexplicable feeling surge through her body. His attractive face made her insides warm and her cheeks blush.
Wait ... marupok ako. Wag kang tumingin nang ganyan ...
She thought to herself. Maine gulped and sat up properly. RJ put the CV down on the table and started asking her questions.
"I don't understand ... why do you want to be a katulong when you have an impressive work history?"
"Malas po kasi ako sa mga pinapasukan ko ... laging nae-endo o kaya nagsasara yung company."
"Okay ... ano yung alam mong gawin sa bahay?" RJ asked and Maine smiled.
"Ahhh Sir .... Madami po akong alam gawin sa bahay .... Marunong po akong mag-luto ... mag-linis ... mag-ligpit ng gamit ... mag-laba ..."
"What meals can you cook?"
"Ahhh madami po sir , kahit anong gusto niyo pwede. May background po kasi ako sa cooking. Yung Tito ko po kasi merong restaurant dati ayun lagi akong naka-tambay dun tapos tinuruan niya ako-"
"What meals can you cook?" RJ asked again, interrupting her.
"Ay sorry po ... medyo ninenerbyos lang. Ah ... yun nga po .. madami. Sinigang, nilaga, kahit anong klaseng adobo, laing, mga grilled dishes."
"Okay ... you're a talker huh?"
"Po?"
"Medyo madaldal ka."
"Ay sorry ... slight lang naman po ... kayo naman." Maine replied before looking away for a moment.
"Do you like kids?" he asked and she turned her eyes back to him.
"Job interview ba ito o marriage interview?" she asked in a whispering manner.
"What?"
"Ah! Wala po ... I mean, oo naman. In fact, ako nga po yung nagbabantay nung mga pinsan kong maliliit. I like kids po ... a lot." She answered.
RJ stared at her for a few seconds before he stood up. Maine followed his lead and left the couch as well.
"If I hire you ... kelan ka pwedeng mag-simula?"
"Bukas na bukas po."
"Good enough ... you're hired." RJ said and her mouth fall open.
"Totoo po?"
"Yep."
Out of her happiness, Maine jumped and gave RJ a tight hug. It took her a couple of seconds to realize what she did. Maine opened her eyes and noticed her face tightly pressed on his chest. She quickly released him and apologized.
