Sunday came and it was finally time for Maine's day off. She woke up early and packed the things she would bring home with her. After making sure that she was able to secure her necessities, Maine left the maid's quarters and walked towards the big house.
As soon as she entered the mansion, Maine's nose was greeted by the wonderful smell of tomato sauce and meat being cooked together. She then hurried to the kitchen and saw a shirtless RJ standing in front of the stove. Maine's eyes widened when she realized he was only wearing yellow boxer shorts that's at least one size smaller than his usual. She stopped on her track and just stared at him as if he was a holy apparition.
Maine's curious eyes traveled the whole length of RJ's back. He then suddenly turned around and their eyes met, causing Maine to blush and look away quickly to prevent him from seeing the redness of her face.
"You're awake. Good Morning, Beautiful." RJ greeted her in his deep morning voice. Maine took a deep breath and looked back at him. RJ smiled and flashed his dimples at her, causing Maine to blush out of embarrassment once more.
"Good morning din beautiful ... ay este RJ." She replied. Maine awkwardly walked to the nearest chair she could reach and sat on it.
"You should eat breakfast before you go home, nagluto na ako for you." He told her.
"Weh? Sige nga, anong niluto mo?" Maine asked him. RJ grinned and showed her one of the meals he prepared.
"Pork Caldereta for Maine na maganda." He said and she rolled her eyes at him.
"Aga-aga bolero eh. Bakit nga pala gising na kayo?"
"I haven't slept yet. Past 3:00 am ko na natapos yung report eh di na ako makatulog kaya nagluto na lang ako." RJ responded.
"Ahhh ...."
"Pero kung ayaw mo naman nung Caldereta for Maine na maganda, hinanda ko naman yung itlog tsaka hotdog ko." RJ said, making her eyes go even bigger than they already were.
"YUNG ANO NIYO?"
"Naghanda ako ng fried eggs tsaka hotdog."
"Ahh ... maka-itlog tsaka hotdog kasi kayo akala ko naman."
"Bakit? Gusto mo ba?" RJ asked, shifting to his bedroom voice.
"Hala .... Ay siyempre hindi po." Maine said, feeling the temperature inside the kitchen rise even though it was chilly outside. Richard laughed a bit before he walked away from her to get some rice. A few minutes later, he returned and sat right in front of Maine.
"Uh, is there something wrong?" he asked a couple of seconds later.
"Ah pwede pong mag-damit kayo? ... nakaka-distract po kasi habang kumakain ... baka ibang ulam ang matikman ko ay ang ibig kong sabihin eh baka malamigan likod mo, magkasakit ka pa."
"Uy concerned, I like that," RJ replied. He then left his seat and ran upstairs, leaving Maine behind. She breathed a sigh of relief and closed her eyes for a moment.
"Lord, thank you ah? Umagang-umaga eh parang pasko agad, may pa pan de sal si Mayor kahit wala pang araw ... emeghed. Pero sana wag po akong masyadong mahirapan kapag kailangan ko nang mamili sa kanila. Pareho po silang mabait, sana po gabayan niyo ako pag dumating na yung panahong yon. Thank you po, amen." She whispered under her breath, thanking God and asking for his guidance. RJ then returned a few moments after with a blue shirt on. Maine smiled and felt relieved that he was no longer half naked.
"Better?" he asked and she nodded.
"So, what's on your itinerary with Ivan today? Ngayon siya pupunta sa inyo di ba?"
