Knight or King (Completed)

Chapter Sixteen

I was able to enjoy my peace from them for about a week, but now they want to talk. I'm guessing they are either going to punish me, ask me to leave or try and talk me into staying and being with them. 

"Look I know that ya'll wanted this to work out but obviously I am not the one for you. I will leave if that is what you are here for." 

"We are here to apologize. We are overused to women using us for power. We assumed wrong and made inappropriate judgements." Xavier explained all the while Hector stood off to the side looking anywhere but me. "Listen little Rose, you came as a surprise to us and well something about you just begs us to have you. I think it's just the air around you that attracts us to you." Xavier tries to explain.

"Well attract yourselves from me." The both of their heads snap towards me with a bewildered look. "What? I'm not going to let another man try to own me or treat me the way that Andrew has. I will not allow myself to fear another man. Get over me I will not play little submissive to the both of you like some little toy!" I shout towards the end, not really sure where all of that came from. "Not only that it's not really a 'WE' that is at fault here now is it?" I question them looking directly at Hector as a scolding parent would their disobedient child. 

Head bowed almost as if he was in shame as well as embarrassed I look to him expecting something but to be disappointed when all he does is remain as still and mute as a statue. 

"I don't know why I bothered? I trusted you and gave you a moment to be something special to mend my broken heart thinking there would be a chance for us when all you do is throw it in my face. That moment I allowed you to be in my room with me alone was a big step for me since I have a fear of men hurting me. I trusted you to not hurt me. Maybe I didn't explain myself to you as well as I should have but you sure as heck didn't give me a chance to either. " Once more I look to him explain but he still refused. 

"You know what this isn't fair to Xavier or myself." This gets his attention quickly, I soon find myself locking eyes with Hector and a slight confusion is buried inside the empty look. "How is it fair that I am punishing him and pushing him away when it is you at fault? Maybe you both shouldn't have to share? Maybe you need to find someone for yourself since you so obviously don't want to share with Xavier." I came to the conclusion for them both. Maybe that is the problem that they have, they can't share. 

I look to them expecting a reply or anything to say they agree or disagree, neither speaks up. "Look until you both can figure out whatever issues you have then I can't help you. I can't make a miracle happen for you both. Obviously Hector needs to do some soul searching as it is since he expects you Xavier his brother to do the apologizing when he was in the wrong not you."

Xavier looks baffled like I have slapped the both of them for some reason. In reality all I am doing is putting them in their places and scolding them as a parent would. "Xavier, you need to learn not to try and take care of your brothers problems for him especially if you had nothing to do with it. His actions are his own you can't fight his battles or defend him, he needs to do it himself."

"Now if you both are quite done, I would like some peace as well as to enjoy my meal without being watched." The look of being lost and confusion was on their faces as they exited the room. Once they were out the room I slumped down on the bed in exhaustion, I don't know where that came from but it sure as H*LL felt great.

Once I finished my meal I decided I was no longer going to hide out in my room. I needed fresh air as well as a change in scenery.  Exiting the room I walk down the hall trying to find a way around this place. Soon I come across a young boy maybe in his early teens around 12 maybe even thirteen.

"Excuse me hun, would you mind showing me outside?" The young boy looked at me with doe eyes as if he was a deer in headlights. 

"Luna what are you doing without the Alpha and Beta?" 

"Hun, I'm not the Luna as well as I don't need either of them with me to get fresh air." The boy looked shocked that I would say such things. 

"Luna bad things could happen if your are by yourself you aren't claimed or mated."

"Hun, once more my name is not Luna, you can call me Rose. Now I can do as I please since I am not mated or claimed, no one can tell me what to do then can they?" It looks as if I have confused as well as made a hole in his theory. I smile inwardly at that fact. "What's your name hun?" 

"I'm Liam ma'am, and how about I be your escort then while you're out, as well as one of our Zeta's?" He questions as well as tries to bargain with me.

"Well what is a Zeta?" I question

"Well a Zeta is a war general and we have 3 of them my uncle Tony is one. He can keep us both safe while we walk around, we never know what can happen." I nod in understanding.

"Alright deal, but only if you stay close to me and your uncle keeps his distance." He nods excited that I would trust him as well as if this was a great honor for him. Honestly he reminded me of my little brother. It brought tears to my eyes slightly but I just brushed them off to not think of that horrible night. 

"Alright ma'am he's waiting for us in the garden." Soon we head off towards the garden and I can't wait to finally stretch my legs as well as breath the fresh air.
