Tim's P.O.V
I ran down an alley, trying to find Tigress, the car, anything that told me I'd find my brother's partner. I stopped, hearing gunfire. I darted out of the alley and turned left, running to the noise, Tigress could wait. I ran into another alley, blocked by a chain link fence.
Three men dressed in gang clothes shooting at someone I couldn't see, stood behind the fence. I climbed the fence and pulled out my bo staff. I jabbed the biggest guy with the staff and released the strongest electric charge on my weapon.
His body shuttered from the electricity and he fell unconscious.
The other two turned their attention to me. They started shooting and I spun my staff, using it to deflect the bullets. Something took down one of them. I didn't stop to think and I took advantage of the last man's distraction and attacked him.
He went for a running punch, I caught his arm with my staff and rolled backwards, throwing him over me and flipping back to my feet, he slammed into the wall upside down and dropped unconscious onto the cement.
I looked at the citizen and frowned, "Robin?"
"Hey!" Robin chuckled, "It's my favorite twin. Robin!"
"Nightwing still hasn't found a way to get you guys home?" I asked as he approached me.
"Like he's even trying," he muttered.
"What?"
He shook his head, then hooked his arm around my shoulders, "So, what brings you back to this hellhole, Rob?"
"Uh...I came to-"
"Robin!"
I jumped hearing Artemis's voice. I looked at the chain link to see Artemis swing over the fence. Her arm was healed, but she had a big scar on her exposed skin.
"Ti-Robin?" She asked walking to us, "What are you doing here."
"It's...a long story..." I sighed. "Why are you guys still here?"
"Nightwing's been searching for time traveling villains, but he can't find anything."
"He refuses to find anything," Robin muttered.
"What does that mean?" I asked.
"Nothing," Artemis sighed. "Robin's just being a dick right now."
"But I thought he was always a dick?" I snorted. Robin glared at Artemis and I. Artemis chuckled.
"Anyway," she said. "He thinks your brother isn't trying to help us get home-"
"Because he's not," Robin growled, interrupting her.
She rolled her eyes, "He claims Nightwing doesn't care-"
"Because he doesn't."
"Why do you think he isn't trying?" I asked Robin.
"Like I told Artemis, he doesn't give a damn about us, so, he's not trying, because he hates us."
"Hates you," Artemis said, pointing at Robin. He shrugged.
"If he hates you," I said. "Then, why would he purposely keep you here?"
"Uhh...." He dragged out for about a minute.
Artemis snorted, "Can you teach me that trick?"
I chuckled, "Sorry, can't reveal my secret to just any mere mortal."
"Are you guys all right?"
I looked at the chain link again and saw Tigress.
"Tigress!" I cheered and ran to the fence. I slid my fingers through the chains and pressed my face against the chain.
"Robin, you're back," she smiled. "And happy to see me?"
"Tigress!IfoundoutawaytohelpNightwingre-"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Tigress said pinching my lips through the chains. "Calm down...and slow down."
I took a deep breath, "I found a way to help Nightwing restore the use of his legs."
Her eyes widened, "How?"
Robin and Artemis walked up beside me.
I glanced at them and looked back to Tigress. "It's called a Spinal Cord Restoration Chip," I said.
"How do I get one?" Tigress asked the moment I finished talking.
"Uhh..." I dragged out.
"Are you sure you're not related?" Artemis muttered looking between Robin and I.
"We can get one...from...the Biomedical Engineering Lab...in Gotham..." I said.
"What company...?" Tigress sighed.
"What one do you think...?" I bumped my head against the chain.
"Did you talk to Nightwing about it?"
"Yes..."
"And?"
"He said he's not going to take something from Bruce..."
"That asshole needs to grow up and learn to accept help when he needs it," Robin muttered.
We all looked at him in exasperation.
"What?" He muttered defensively.
Tigress raised a brow. Artemis rolled her eyes. I blinked, "Uh, Rob."
He was silent and blinked in realization. He groaned, "I hate 2016..." He purposely fell forward onto the cement.
Artemis reached down, grabbed the end of his cape and pulled it over his head so the yellow part was facing up.
I laughed at them.
"So, what do you suggest we do?" Tigress asked.
"I...I don't know..." I sighed, "Dick...isn't one to accept help..."
"He's an ass," Robin said.
"Robin..." I said, "Start thinking before you speak."
"Make me!" He yelled into the concrete.
I rolled my eyes at him and looked at Tigress.
She was clearly thinking.
"All three of you," she sighed. "Get over here."
"No," Robin said, not moving.
Artemis and I climbed the fence and dropped down next to Tigress.
"Robin, now," Tigress said.
"No."
"I got him," Artemis sighed, jumping back over the fence.
She picked Robin up with ease and flung him over her shoulder, before climbing over the fence and dropping him on the cement.
"...Ow" Robin said flatly.
"I see your arm is doing better," I said.
She nodded, "Fully healed a few weeks ago."
"Nice," I nodded.
"Back off my twin, Crock!" Robin spat.
"Can it, Grayson."
"Everyone can it," Tigress said. "I'm trying to think."
All of us fell silent.
"So, Nightwing won't accept the chip if Bruce gives it to us."
I nodded, "Plus we can't ask-"
"Who said anything about asking?" She smirked mischievously.
I blinked, "We're all going to die...aren't we...?"
