Artemis P.O.V
I looked over the ledge and felt myself pale as I watched Brother Blood tear a bloody knife out of Robin's stomach and used it to slash at Tigress.
Tigress ducked the swing and kicked Brother Blood away from Robin. She swung her sword causing Brother Blood to dart away. She chased him with her sword held ready.
"Robin!" I shouted at the top of my lungs hoping for a response. The Boy Wonder wrapped his arms around his stomach and pulled his legs up, curling into a ball. I looked at Nightwing.
He was stone faced watching.
I looked both ways of the walk which were blocked by bloody bodies with broken necks. I bit my lip watching Robin. I grimaced hearing him groan quietly.
"Get me down there," I ordered Nightwing.
He looked at me, shrugged and picked me up.
I wrapped my arm tightly around his neck and wrapped my legs around his waistline.
He put his arm around my waist. Nightwing stepped up onto the safety rail and lunged forward. He snatched the chains and maneuvered down to the floor.
I wriggled out of his arms and landed on the floor, emediatly running to Robin.
Tigress appeared and hurried to Robin. She managed to get him to relax his body and she examined his stab the best she could in this terrible lighting.
I slid onto my knees next to Robin and looked at him worried. I looked over my shoulder at Nightwing, who walked towards us.
"We need to get him back to the base Nightwing," Tigress said as Robin curled back up.
Nightwing nodded.
I put my hand on Robin's shoulder.
Tigress gently pulled my hand away and carefully scooped Robin into her arms.
I stood up and followed her quickly as she ran to the exit.
When we got outside I scrambled into the back of the car.
Tigress carefully layed Robin in the back.
I cradled his head in my lap, cupping his cheek in my hand.
He groaned in his throat.
Tigress got in the car and screamed out the door for Nightwing, who was climbing into the car in the driver's seat.
We sped off down the street towards the base.
I looked at Robin and bit my lip seeing how pale he already was. "Please," I said looking up. "Go faster Nightwing."
He nodded and we suddenly sped up.
Robin whimpered. I carefully stroked his cheek with my thumb and gently hushed him.
Tigress looked back at us. She grabbed Robin's wrist and timed his pulse. "His pulse is below average," she told Nightwing.
Nightwing nodded not seeming worried.
I glared at him.
"He'll be okay," Nightwing said.
"How the hell do you know?" I growled.
I looked at his masked eyes in the rear view and realized how he knew.
He turned into the entrance to the garage portion of the base.
Tigress climbed out. She reached in and gathered Robin in her arms and ran into the main portion of the base.
Nightwing reached his hand in and I took it. He helped me out of the car.
"If Robin was on the verge of death," I said looking up at Nightwing. "You wouldn't even be here...that's why you were so calm; that's how you knew."
He was expressionless for a long minute, then smirked.
"You're a real jackass you know that," I said.
He snorted, "Yeah, I know."
I walked into the main room and found Tigress taking care of Robin's wound. I looked at Nightwing when he stood in the doorway leaning against the frame.
"How does she know how to help him?" I whispered.
"She took medical classes," he said not even trying to whisper.
Tigress glanced up at us and nodded, "Even managed to graduate early."
I watched her as she stitched up Robin's stomach. "So," I said. "You're a doctor?"
"I have the qualifications to be one," she said. "On paper: I can be a doctor. By choice: I'm not."
I nodded and walked to the bed as she dabbed disinfectant on the stitches. I looked at Nightwing as he walked back into the garage.
"What are you doing?" I asked him.
There was a silence in the garage before he said, "Just checking things."
"You should get to bed," Tigress told me. She taped gauze over Robin's stomach and pulled his blanket up.
I nodded. I walked to the clothing box and quickly changed into pajamas.
Tigress shut down the computer and walked to the door. "I'm doing perimeter!" She called to Nightwing.
"Thanks kitty," I heard Nightwing call back.
I walked to my bed and climbed into it. I turned onto my side and looked at Robin.
Color was coming back to his face and he was breathing evenly.
"Night Robin," I said. "See you in the morning."
