Silence filled the air as soon as those words were spoken, the red-haired girl that stood in front of the raven-haired boy staring at him in slight shock.
"Why?" She questioned quietly.
"There's nothing here for me anymore, Nao."
"I'm here, you idiot."
Sasuke's eyes widened slightly at the sudden change in the girl's tone of voice. Her quiet, sad demeanor changed into a hard and cold one, her usually warm orbs holding nothing but emptiness.
"I'm here." She repeated slowly."So am I nothing to you?"
"I'm an Avenger. You know that." He muttered."I have to kill him."
She let out a exasperated breath."We can help you do that. Here."
"I need to go." The Uchiha insisted, taking a step forward."The only question I have for you is, are you willing to come with me?"
The room went silent again.
"You only need me because I'm a jinjuriki, is that right?" She guessed after a while."And your Sharingan can control the Nine Tails. Having me on your side would be a huge advantage."
"That's part of the reason." The onyx-eyed boy admitted.
"But no hard feelings, right? War is war, after all." She muttered bitterly, looking down at the hardwood floor of her apartment with a sigh.
"The main reason I want you to go is because I need you. Not as the Nine Tails, but as my comrade, and as my friend." He said quickly, adjusting the straps of his backpack.
"You need me?"
"I need you." He confirmed hesitantly.
She smiled cheekily.
"Then I guess I have no choice but to go. As your bestfriend, of course."
