CHAPTER FOURTY ______________________ "They're so grown up."
"Wow, I never thought I'd hear you say that."
"Hn." Sasuke rolled his eyes, looking up at the bright blue sky with a grimace.
"I guess there's nothing for us to do now. Sarada and Minato are on their teams, Satoshi and Itachi are ANBU captains.." His red-headed wife sighed lightly, crossing her legs,
"Will you be bored?"
She laughed."Yeah."
The raven-haired man scoffed."Right."
"What is it?" Nao asked curiously, uncrossing her legs to stand in front of her husband.
"I'm here now, but you say you're gonna be bored. Were you just pretending?"
She grabbed his chin and leaned forward so that their faces were inches apart."Listen to me, Baka Sasuke. I am not pretending. I didn't even know I shouldn't have said what I said until you started acting disappointed and sad. But the truth is I've never been this happy or not bored in my life. I wasn't this happy when you decided to leave the village for your own personal gain, or when you defended me from Karin. Not when I opened my eyes after not being alive for a while to find you looking down at me. Or when you said, 'I do' at our wedding and I realized that I was going to be able to have you and love you forever. So if I say I'm going to be bored, it's only because I raised these children with you, and not being able to do that with you anymore just makes me feel sad. Don't you understand that, darling?"
Sasuke stared down at woman with a small smile. She was giving him a grin, her ocean-blue eyes holding nothing but love and warmth. He chuckled.
"What? Did I say something funny?"
He bent down to catch her in a quick kiss, that was affectionate nonetheless.
"On the contrary. You just made me fall in love with you all over again."
NOTES i can't believe this is it! after fourty chapters, CHANGE is officially finished. i'm so proud of what i've accomplished with this book and i hope that those of you that have been reading along enjoyed it. i'm super sad that i won't be writing any more chapters but i do have a new sasuke uchiha love story book coming out soon.
