CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE ______________________ A FEW YEARS BEFORE
"Who knew Sasuke Uchiha could take a woman on such a romantic date."
"Shut up, Baka Nao."
Nao giggled happily, intertwining her fingers with her boyfriend's."You know I'm only kidding."
He rolled his eyes, masking the nervousness that had gathered in his body at that moment.
"The stars are so beautiful." She said in awe, tilting her head upwards to watch the night sky.
"I'm not gonna be a cliche and say what those stupid romance novels you always read say." He began, squeezing her hand."But I will say that you're beautiful as ever tonight."
"Aw, thank you!" She blushed, leaning over to give him a peck on the cheek."What has you so affectionate today?"
"Nothing."
"Come on, tell me!"
He inhaled deeply."Okay, listen closely."
She turned slightly."I'm all ears."
"I love you a lot." He started slowly."So much so that I couldn't imagine my life without you in it. Whether it's as my comrade, or my teammate, or my bestfriend, or my girlfriend."
The red-head smiled brightly.
His eyes flickered back from the stars to her face."I don't have a ring for you, but I want you to wear something more meaningful and important. Something that's a part of me, and I want to share it with you. I want you to wear the Uchiha clan crest on the back of your clothes for the rest of your life."
Her ocean-blue eyes, the ones that he could stare into forever, widened in shock.
"Nao, will you marry me?" He finished, holding out a piece of olive-green clothing with the Uchiha crest shown clearly on the back.
"This is so much better than a ring, ya know." She sniffled, her smile growing larger as she took the shirt from his hands.
"So..?"
"Of course I'll marry you, Baka Sasuke." Nao laughed, leaning over to give him a passionate kiss on the lips.
"That's all I could ever ask for, blockhead."
NOTES i never did a chapter of sasuke proposing to nao so here i am to bless y'all with sasunao in its glory
