Chapter 15

Jimmy and Matthew both watched Kevin and Alex together as the alpha was reading the kitten's files while holding it up in the air.
Since he was currently lying down on the couch with Alex lying on top of him, so the brunette would be in a more comfortable position as he slept "Wow, those two really are bonding well," the eagle mumbled as the doctor nodded his head.

"Yeah, they seem even closer since the time in the hospital," Jimmy says as he leans against his hand "Really?" Matthew questioned while earning a nod from the doctor "Yeah, that's where the nickname Fluffy originated from," the brunette said which Matthew snorted at this.
"That's cute and all, but they should work on their separation," the eagle says jokingly though Jimmy couldn't help but agree with the eagle.

As Kevin glanced towards the two "We'll work on it after Christmas," the redhead said when Alex woke up and clung to the alpha's shirt "Work on what Fluffy?" the neko mumbled sleepily.

"Being apart," the alpha answered when Alex lifted his head to look at the alpha who glanced to the side, avoiding the kitten's gaze "It's for just in case. But I won't just start distancing myself just out of the blue, I'll let you know when," Kevin said.
When his eyes landed on Jimmy who seemed to be studying him from afar almost as if he could sense the alpha's discomfort in eye contact...

"But fluffy..." Alex whines snapping Kevin out of it when the alpha took a breath and forced himself to make eye contact with the brunette "No buts. I promised to protect and take care of you. I won't be able to do that if we ever get ambushed," Kevin said in a stern tone which earned a pout from the kitten who knew Kevin was right

"Ok..." Alex said finally understanding the alpha in which the kitten snuggled his face into the redhead's chest pouting.

As Jimmy and Matthew had a look of amusement on their face until the doctor soon took a sharp breath quickly understanding why Kevin had been reacting the way he had, as he frowned deeply, earning the eagle's attention.
"What's wrong?" the duel-haired male questioned glancing towards the doctor "I forgot to contact someone about my current whereabouts," the doctor answered before taking out his phone, feeling Kevin's gaze on him while Matthew just gave a slight nod of his head in understanding thinking it was probably one of the staff at the hospital.

Soon after a while, the door unlocked earning the group's attention as Matthew's parents walked inside the house "Oh! Hello," Matthew's mother said happily while her husband glared at the man who was in his house, whom he didn't recognize.

"Honey, that's their doctor, Mainly Kevin's and Kit's," Matthew's mother said with a gentle smile on her face as he then looked at his wife with a look of confusion "Kevin's? Kits?" he questioned in which Matthew and his mother both pointed to the redhead and brunette, that was laying on the couch together.

"Oh," Matthew's father says finally understanding as his wife lightly tugged him further into the house while closing the door behind him, then began helping him remove his winter gear.

"It's nice to see you, Mr. Dawn, are you going to be spending Christmas with us?" she asks while glancing towards him for a second "I will be, if that's ok with you and you're husband, Mrs. Gonzalez," Jimmy says.

"Yes, that's ok," the woman replied while removing her winter gear with the help of her husband who wanted to assist her a bit though he was almost like a confused child.

"Thank you," Jimmy says pleased to know he got to stay and he was in luck since he packed spare clothes for if he was allowed to stay over with Matthew's family until Kevin hummed.

"Oh! Actually, you know what. I think it's best if you do stay," Mrs. Gonzalez says while her husband looks a bit offended.

"There's going to be a terrible storm tonight, and since I didn't see a vehicle outside, I'm guessing you've walked here? Correct," she asked as Jimmy chuckled nervously "Yeah, you caught me," the doctor said while rubbing the back of his head, as she soon nodded and while taking her husband's hand, she started walking down the hall to get the guest bedroom ready for the older male.
