Wolf's Kitten

Chapter 23

The school was just 2 days away.

When Kevin was doing another nightly walk as he had left Alex with Matthew back at the apartment since he knew sooner or later the other so-called 'Family' would show up, so he would need to put the place to use, so it didn't look abandoned.

Though, it would only be so long until he'd have to be in charge of his so-called 'sister' who might be there.

So shoving his hands into his pockets, he let out a breath of air as a cloud began to appear letting him know how cold it was tonight, when someone walked in front of him, cutting off his path and causing the alpha to stop in his tracks much to his annoyance.
He was on a timed schedule and needed to be back to the apartment within 10 minutes since he had made a promise to a certain kitten, that he would be back during that time.

Kevin's POV

'Can't I ever get a break?' I rolled my eyes a bit at this "Careful cub. He stinks of a hunter," I heard my wolf warn me, as I sighed agian.

"Mind having a quick chat?" the guy says while I adjust my scarf up to my nose to cover up the stench he was giving off "Yes, I do mind actually," I answered annoyed when I felt a presence behind me, as my wolf was begging to grow just as agitated as I was.

"Are you sure? It'll only take a few seconds," he says looking down at me as I bit back a growl "Very sure," I answered daring him to try anything.

Until the sound of a gun being cocked sounded right behind me 'Damn hunters,' 

When the guy in front of me chuckled "Don't be like that, wolf," he soon spoke as I bit back another growl now glaring at him. 
"Keep your cool, for now, cub. We'll teach them a lesson very soon," I heard Kylub growl when I sighed heavily.

'Fine...'

"Fine," I finally answered Kylub while letting out another sigh, but the moron in front of me seemed to get a superiority high from the thought of me 'cooperating' with him apparent.

Damn...

If only he knew...

The guy started to grin at me and puff his chest out "Good. I'm glad we've come to an agreement. Now, follow me, so we can discuss this on a more... Private. Level," he said as if he was trying to taunt me.

"Whatever. Just hurry the f-k up, and lead the way," I snapped slightly only for him to stall and mock me further by laughing at me when the guy began walking until his little friend behind me got a little too close. I-
"Calm. Down. And walk cub," I heard Kylub scold me when I began walking while feeling myself begin to shake.

"You're friend better not touch me, or you'll be carrying him in a duffle bag," I threatened trying to do what Kylub told me to do, and reframed myself from getting physical.

"Wow, such big words from such a little guy. Don't worry, he won't try anything," the guy says but I could tell, he wasn't taking me seriously...
He was underestimating me...

"Just, remember what you promised," Kylub says though he wasn't doing any better himself.
'Remember, what I promised. Remember, what I promised...' I repeated in my head.

When I sighed agian and closed my eyes for a second, trying to release the stress I was feeling...

Third Person POV

Alex was walking back and forth in Kevin's room while nibbling on the stuffed wolf's ear, with  Matthew watching the distressed Kitten.

"Alex. Mi Amigo, maybe try easing up a bit. I'm sure he will return any minute now," the eagle says, even though he, himself was just as worried as Alex was about the redhead's long absence which was unusual as he was fairly good with time management.

"No! He's been gone for hours! He left at 5:15 it's now 10:34 it's been too long," Alex says while looking at the eagle with tears streaming down his face causing Matthew to shut up.

As he glanced to the side, when he took a deep breath, the eagle went over to Alex and pulled the kitten into a hug, allowing the young teen to cry into his chest, while the duel-haired male rubbed his back.
"Just, try to breathe gato. Clear your mind," Matthew said softly to try and help Alex calm down when he felt Kit give him a small nod as he began trying to breathe.

When the doorbell rang earning the two's attention, before Alex immediately ran off towards the door, with Matthew quickly following after him just to make sure the kitten didn't end up tripping and falling over.
Putting his life at risk, if the person did turn out to be Kevin on the other side of the door.

Though, both of them. Weren't really, in the best headspace as once they arrived at the front door, the eagle placed his hand on Alex's shoulder to stop him from immediatly opening the door impulsively.
Until two knocks sounded at the door, followed by the sound of knuckles dragging against the wood of the door.

Which prompted Matthew to enthusiastically answer the door...

When his face twisted in disappointment, along with Alex as well, hurting their guests feelings "Oh... It's just you," the eagle muttered before moving out of the way.

"Wow, you could have at least said. Hello?" Jimmy says as he holds up a bag of feed but Alex only pouted as his eyes filled with more tears as he sulked towards the couch "So, what brings you here doc? And what's in the bag?" Matthew asked letting the doctor inside.
"Kevin texted me earlier, asking to bring you both some food and that he'll be out much longer than planned," Jimmy says as he walks into the apartment.

"Do you know, if Kevin's ok or not? He didn't send us anything," Matthew said while closing the front door behind the doctor "He just told me something came up, and to keep an eye on the both of you," the doctor informed Matthew while making his way to the kitchen.

"Then... Then... What now?" Alex asked sounding distraught "We can wait, until he gets home," Jimmy answered "So, for now. Come eat, he'll have my neck if he finds out I didn't feed you two," the doctor said as he chuckled a bit to light up the mood.
Though he knew the two didn't find this funny when he shook his head before whistling and snapping his fingers.

"Come on, let's talk at the table and get our feelings out," the doctor says as both males glance to the side before giving a small nod...

4:15 in the morning...

The door to the apartment opened, quietly as someone entered the apartment, before closing the door behind them.

Making sure the door, was locked, they began their journey past the living room where Jimmy took up the entire couch, as he was out cold with a blanket lying on top of him, unaware of the guest that had entered the home...
