Chapter 22

Once Kevin had made it to the Gonzalez household, he knocked on the door 4 times before allowing his knuckles to drag against the wood, and letting himself in while closing the door behind himself.

"I'm-" The alpha couldn't get a word in before he was nearly tackled into the door by Alex as he took a slight step back to balance himself when he adjusted the kitten in his arms "Welcome home, amigo," Matthew said he saw Kevin walking further into the house after he managed to get his shoes off while Alex was hanging onto him while purring.

"Welcome back home Hijo. I've prepared you some dinner," Mrs. Gonzalez says with a soft smile.

"Thank you," Kevin answered as he carefully put Alex down so he could remove his coat until Alex had moved closer to him once more this time sniffing his coat curiously, which confused the alpha when the kitten's ears pressed against his head.
"G-get rid..." the brunette stammered while taking a step back in fear, something the redhead didn't expect, "G-get rid!" Alex shouted before running away.

Leaving everyone shocked as Kevin's eyes were slightly widened, until the alpha glanced to the side thinking about the brunette's reactions, before he began removing the coat "Here, let me wash this for you," Mrs. Gonzalez said softly.
Earned a slight nod from the redhead when he handed his jacket over to her, before beginning to remove his scarf just as Matthew went over to him.

"Are you ok Amigo?" the eagle asked "Yeah, I'm just gonna have a quick chat with Alex," Kevin said before heading down the hall to Matthew's room when Mr. Gonzalez peeked from the kitchen, to see what was going on before turning his attention to Matthew and asked him something.

To which, Matthew answered back in Spanish, while also correcting his father on who he was referring to and reminding him of his name.

In Matthew's room, Kevin had made his way inside as he sighed through his nose when he saw Alex hugging one of the many pillows on the eagle's bed close to his chest with his back pressed against the bedboard.

"I-I'm sorry..." the kitten whispered, after a while, of silence until Kevin closed the door behind him.

"What happened earlier, you were so freaked out," the alpha asked as he walked over to Kit who hugged the pillow tighter for a second, before putting it to the side "It's because..." Alex started while playing with his fingers, "Because?" Kevin slightly pushed encouraging the neko to share what was troubling him.

As he sat down on the side of the bed, "You... You smelled like her..." the brunette whispered while avoiding Kevin's gaze when he heard a heavy sigh that caused him to flinch.

"Would you like for me to go for a shower as well?" Kevin then asked but Alex just shook his head "It... It was only on you're coat..." the brunette mumbled.

When the alpha adjusted himself on the bed so he could face Alex better, he held his arms out for the neko, who cautiously crawled towards him and got onto his lap, clinging to him, as the redhead held him close. "Are you sure?" the wolf questioned.
"Mhm... I'm sure..." the kitten answered while nuzzling his face into the alpha's chest "I don't like her... She's scary..." he continued.

"You mean, that scent from earlier?" Kevin asked earning a nod "Ok," the alpha answered when Alex lifted his head to rest it on the redhead's shoulder "How did you end up with her smell on you?" he asked.

"I caught her stalking me and slapped her hand away when she reached out to grab me," Kevin answered making Alex reel back once more while looking into the alpha's eyes with fear.

It's the same look he gave Kevin earlier.

He hated that look...

"Sh-she was stalking you!? She's here?! Does that mean she followed you home? Are we-" Alex was quickly hushed when Kevin covered his mouth "Stop shouting. Yes, she was stalking me. No, she didn't get to follow me, so she's not here. You're safe. Everyone is safe," Kevin says slowly while feeling Alex, beginning to calm down.
"As long as I'm around, she will never. Come near you," the redhead says before slowly lowering his hand once he is sure, Alex didn't start yelling again and hurting his voice.

"Remember. I promised to protect you, didn't I? And I'd be damned if I allowed anything to happen to you," Kevin informed the kitten whose eyes started to become teary as he was close to bursting into tears with his face becoming flushed "I-I'm sorry..." Alex stammered.

"I-I'm really, really, sorry Fluffy," the kitten whined before pressing his face into the alpha's chest when Kevin sighed softly as he began to gently rub the Neko's back.

"Don't apologize, I know you were just scared. I'm not upset just worried," Kevin whispered, as he then began lightly running his fingers through the kitten's hair while holding him closer as he could feel his wolf's anger from hearing the small sobs from Alex...

The next day came around when Kevin, Alex, and Matthew were out walking around together, after the two were heavily questioned by Mrs. Gonzalez, who was still worried sick about Alex's outburst yesterday, including when she saw he had been crying earlier... 
But after, a lot of reassurance, the three were finally allowed out with the promise of keeping her updated on their whereabouts and how Alex was doing.

"So, what are we getting this time?" the eagle asked curiously as he shoved his hands into his pockets.

"A phone for Alex, then I need to head to the apartment," Kevin says as he looks forward.

As people were quickly getting out of their way, noticing the alpha seemed to be in a pretty bad mood today.

"What do you need from the apartment?" Matthew questioned with a raised brow "No, just visiting and checking on things," Kevin answered half-heartedly "Besides, it's just me living there anyway, I'll only need to buy stuff if that b-ch and her brat shows up," he then continued on with a roll of his eyes, as Alex looked between the males curiously.

"Oh, that makes sense," Matthew answered as he glanced to the side, until Alex reached out and latched onto Kevin's arm, feeling the alpha relax a bit, once more shocking the other pedestrians that witnessed him pull this stunt.

When the kitten saw a familiar face, he smiled and let go of the wolf "Kevin, look," he said while pointing towards a certain purple-haired teen, who was carrying a shopping bag with her.

"Isn't she the one, who's always giving you gifts?" Matthew questioned with a raised brow earning a nod from the redhead "Can we say hi?" Alex asked next "Sure," Kevin answered as the eagle chuckled a bit, but didn't comment anything... For now.

The three then made their way towards the girl who was currently distracted with whatever was in her bag until Alex spoke up startling her "Hello," the kitten said as she quickly looked over.

To see the three standing in front of her, when her eyes began to widen a bit in surprise.

"H-hello," she stuttered while holding her bag close to her chest, as she became extremely shy "I never got the chance to introduce myself. I'm Alex," the kitten said earning her attention "And as you might already know, I'm Matthew, and that's Kevin," Matthew says as he tilts his head over to the alpha.

When the teen started to hide behind her shopping bag "J-Jessie..." she answered her voice no higher than a whisper.

Earning a smile from Alex, "Would you like to be friends?" the kit then questioned earning a squeak from the purple-haired teen "O-of co-course," she stuttered before immediatly dashing off, shutting off the rest of the conversation.

Confusing Alex, "Did I do something wrong?" the kitten asked "No, it's Kevin that's the problem," Matthew says while putting his hands behind his head.

"What did fl-Kevin do to her?" Alex asked when the alpha shook his head "No," the redhead answered as Matthew just smiled "She just has the biggest crush on him, that's all," the eagle said when Kevin glared at him, when the kitten tilted his head.

"What's a crush? Does that happen to everyone?" Alex asked when Kevin began walking causing the two to follow him.

"Sometimes, but everyone's crush is different," Kevin answers while feeling the shorter male's eyes on him as they walked together while also not answering the kitten's first question until Matthew spoke up, to explain to Kit what a crush was.
