It was now December 19th
And Kevin was packing up two bags, while Prize just watched from where he was sitting as his tail flicked around lazily.
The two seemed to have adjusted to their situation rather quickly during the time they've spent together, as in a way, they seemed to have clicked fairly well during the week they've spent together. But, just because they've managed to bond well, doesn't mean the road they went down together was as easy. There were a few changes that came around with their newfound attachments to one another such as:
--Kevin and Prize, have started cuddling one another as a way to stop Prize's panic attacks. Since there were a few things that triggered the kitten, one of them being. Cold water...
The cuddling also works when the kitten is either sleeping or just taking a nap.--If Kevin was to leave while Prize was still asleep and the kitten wakes up without him present. Prize would proceed to try and call out for the redhead, even though his voice wasn't strong enough to.
--Due to Prize's love for playing with Kevin's hair, the alpha had begun to find it rather relaxing whenever the kitten did so, leading to Prize now doing this: Just because, whenever he notices Kevin's stress levels going up. This includes when he's angry. When Prize gets scared, and many more
--Prize has started to force Kevin to eat with him. Since Kevin would end up skipping meals whenever he got too busy, either due to work, managing the bills, or just keeping Prize's rehabilitation routine in order.
But due to this, it left the alpha with only two choices, cooperate and eat with the kitten, or have the neko hand-feed him and safe to say. The kitten kept the redhead going, and well-fed, just like how Kevin took care of him--Also the two started taking baths together to make things easier for them. However, Prize was still embarrassed about this new investment even with the alpha wearing swim trunks, and the reason they started doing this in the first place, was because Kevin's wolf wouldn't give him any peace of mind about letting the kitten wash alone in his condition...
The alpha soon rolled his eyes while sighing heavily, as he listened to his friend's rambling over the phone, which was getting a bit annoying.
"Yea, yea. I'll be there tomorrow don't worry about it," Kevin says while putting everything neatly together in the bags.
-'Great! And I've also heard you've taken in a kitten. Will you be bringing him with you?The redhead held back a growl before biting his tongue to keep from startling Prize who was currently still watching him put everything together for their leave.
"Yeah, I'm bringing him," Kevin replied as he rolled his eyes slightly, before looking over to Prize who made eye contact with him, as the kitten's tail flicked around curiously.
-'Alright, just making sure is all,'"Did Jimmy put you up to this?" the redhead then looked towards his phone as it went a bit quiet on the other side while Kevin waited for the other's answer along with the brunette who waited as well.
-'Uh....Er... Yea, he did,'"Good to know. I'll make sure to shove his head in the wall when I see him,"
-'I'll. Make sure to relay that message...'"No. Let it be his surprise gift," Kevin said with a slight growl to his tone, as he soon stood up and picked up his phone that was on the nightstand beside the bed to take it off speaker with a sigh "I gotta go now, see you tomorrow," the redhead said while glancing towards Prize who looked up at him confused, when a thought came to mind.
"Yea, bye..." And with that, Kevin ended the call and sat on the bed beside Prize, with a sigh, he set his phone down "I-is there something you need Fluffy?" the kitten questioned curiously.
"...Do you like your name?" the alpha questioned taking Prize by surprise "um...W-well. I don't ha-have a say in that..." the brunette mumbled while glancing away "It's a simple yes or no answer. Just be honest with me," Kevin says his voice a bit stern, causing the kitten to flinch as Kevin's wolf began scolding him for scaring their mate.
When the kitten's small voice sounded earning Kevin's attention "N-no..." the neko soon answered after a while, "I...I don't like it..." Prize said while looking down at his hands when the alpha sighed through his nose, "W-will you... Rename me?" the kitten asked as he glanced towards the redhead.
"You already have a name. We just need to-"
"I-I wa-nt y-you to n-name me," Prize said quickly, cutting Kevin off in what he was saying before the brunette instantly covered his mouth and turned his head away while closing his eyes tightly. Shaking violently, almost as if he was fearful of annoying the redhead.
But all Kevin did, was stare at the brunette, putting them into another arrangement of silence "I-I'm sorry..." Prize soon mumbled after a while, his voice small and shaky.
When another sigh left the alpha's nose before placing a hand on the brunette's head "Don't apologize," Kevin mumbled in which the kitten looked towards him with dull big teary eyes that seemed to put a slight trance on the wolf.
Until the alpha then turned his gaze away, once he was able to snap out of it "How about..." the redhead mumbled thinking of something while feeling the brunette's eyes on him waiting patiently.
But it was a bit distracting and with his wolf talking to him, he couldn't find a name for the neko that would fit him even though there was something else he'd have to worry about...
.
.
...What will happen when he names Prize...
