It was now January 18th
When the two were out on the streets together once more though this time Matthew was also with them, "What did we need on the list agian?" the eagle questioned curiously while glancing over the alpha's shoulder.
As the two were starting a new school year as seniors while Alex was going to start the school year completely new or well as a junior so he'd have to get used to everything.
Kevin then allowed the eagle to see the list he had created, as Alex also leaned into the redhead to see the list as well, both reading what he created as he managed to guide them both without either of them getting hurt.
"Ok, that seems simple enough. We are a bit early with searching right?" the eagle questioned in which the alpha nodded his head "Would I need a backpack too?" Alex asked when the alpha adjusted the kitten's beanie to help keep his head warm, "You do," Kevin answered.
"Maybe we should get 3 more notebooks?" Matthew says while staring at the list still "No, you're mom, would already have 13 at home, this amount is enough," the redhead says while shaking his head, "Why so many?" Kit questioned while glancing up at the two males before Kevin placed his hand on Alex's waist to move him closer to the middle of them."Matthew loses his notebooks easily so we get extras," the wolf answered while glaring at a group of people, making them jump back and quickly rush to the other side of the street, one of them almost getting hit by a car.
"I don't think it's that bad..." Matthew says with a slight frown "You've managed to lose 8 notebooks," Kevin replies with a slight growl.
"That's still-"
"For each. Class," the alpha instantly interrupted Matthew, getting the eagle to shut up while Alex giggled at the two's interaction with one another.
.
The three now had everything they needed for school as Kevin was wearing Alex's bookbag with everything neatly placed in it, allowing them to get some food for the day.
When the alpha began to have a bad feeling as he lightly pushed Alex in front of him "Let's head home," the redhead then said earning the brunette's attention "Uh, sure. But which- Oh." Matthew says quickly understanding what the wolf meant before nodding his head.
"Si, I'm sure Mama would love to make food for us," the eagle then said with joy while taking out his phone to text his mom so she could have a heads-up.While Kevin grabbed at his shoulder to keep him from wandering off too far from them since he was currently distracted.
Alex was once more confused with what was going on, but obediently allowed Kevin guide him, feeling as whatever the alpha needed to do. It was for his and Matthew's protection anyway so it was fine...
But...
Something wasn't right...
--- Time Skip ---
Kevin was now walking around later on in the afternoon, as he had a work meeting to get to.
He'd left Alex with Matthew and their parents for the time being much to the Kitten's dismay since Kit wanted to tag along as well but was swiftly told no.
The wolf, then checked his phone to see that he was in fact, on time as he made it inside of the restaurant where he told the staff, which reservation he was a part of, before making his way to the table he was led to.
Where he saw a woman waiting for him as she had a big smile on her face "Wonderful, just in time Kevin," she said pleased as the alpha gave a slight nod. Before, removing his bag and taking a seat in front of her "My partner will be right back. He's currently in the bathroom," she then informed him, earning another nod.
When he then went into his bag and took out a file, passing it towards her "I've looked over everything and found the problem," Kevin said as she took the file from him.
"Thank you," she said sounding relieved as she looked through the file, with a soft smile on her face, until a man walked over, took his seat beside her, then looked over her shoulder, causing her to lean into him so they could read over it together.
"Did he find the issue?" he questioned "Yup, looks like the numbers are correct this time," she said pleased when he sighed relieved, instantly leaning back in his chair."Honestly kid, you have no idea how much of a life-savor you are," the man says with a smile, but he only got a slight glare from the alpha causing him to reel back in fear.
When his partner tapped his shoulder since her eyes were still glued onto the files "Calm down, you probably triggered a nerve," she said nonchalantly while he gave a slightly nervous laugh "You...You don't say," he mumbled while feeling like he was looking at death himself.
When the woman closed the file "Alright, looks like everything is in order. Can I offer you anything to eat?" she soon asked earning Kevin's attention, as his glare went away.
"No, I just had to drop that off. I'm heading back home," he said while standing up from his seat "Oh. Ok... Erm, how's that other project doing by the way?" she soon questioned while putting the file away in her bag "Fine. I'll have it done soon," the alpha replied before putting his bag back on and left the restaurant, not staying around to chat longer, when the woman sighed as her body relaxed.
"Man, he's scary," the woman soon says while putting her head on the table "So serious all the time, what's that guy's problem..." the man questioned with a slight pout.
"I don't know... But whatever it is, we have no choice but to work with him..." the woman grumbled while keeping her head down when their waiter showed up to take their order.
.
With Kevin, he was walking down the semi-empty street as he glanced up at the sky.
Taking immediate notice, that it was starting to get dark by now, as he sighed through his nose, before adjusting his scarf a bit to keep himself warm on his way back to Matthew's place.
Though, during his walk, the alpha took his phone out so he could text Mrs. Gonzalez until his train of thought was disturbed, before putting his phone away after turning it off, when he glanced over his shoulder to see someone with their head down following behind him.
Rolling his eyes, Kevin decided he was going to take the long way, home instead as he stopped at the crosswalk, waiting for the light to turn green. When he glanced to his side when he saw that the person had stopped beside him, which turned out to be a woman but she at least kept her distance while still looking down at the ground.
Causing him to roll his eyes, and turn his attention forward ignoring her, only for the peaceful silence to be broken "Excuse me," the woman says but he ignores it."Excuse me, sir," the woman said once more when he sighed "I just need to ask a few questions," she continued on, but he continued to ignore her focusing on the sign in front of them.
"May I?" she questioned until he slightly glared at her, while a few pedestrians avoided the two, feeling how thick the tension was getting with a few even wondering if she was new here.
As the alpha was growing annoyed "No," he replied harshly, "but sir," she said when Kevin decided to just cross the road until she reached out, but he slapped her hand away while growling.
Causing her to immediatly back away, taken off guard by his hostility "Yo-you... The light, i-its..." but Kevin didn't stay long as he walked the streets without a care for ongoing traffic, easily getting to the other side without getting hit.
Leaving the woman in sheer shock, as she watched Kevin walk off, with the only thing on her mind, was the sight of his eyes, which glowed a bright sunny yellow...
