Chapter 19

The next day soon came around when Kevin woke up as he took in a deep breath, and felt Alex nuzzle into his neck while purring happily.

When he lightly pats the neko's back earning a soft mew before the alpha carefully removed Kit from him, so he could get out of bed with a stretch before heading to the bathroom for a quick second. 
Since he planned not to be gone for that long anyway, then within seconds later, he had returned to pick up Alex and carried him out of their room so he could get breakfast started.

Though, he didn't expect to see Mrs. Gonzalez leave her room at the same time as him.

"Ah, good morning Hijo," she said happily as her wings fluttered softly "Good morning," Kevin answered as he stopped walking to allow her to catch up with him, when she placed a kiss on his head, before doing the same to Alex who was still sleeping soundly in the alpha's arms.

"How did you sleep last night," she asked as they began walking together "Well," the redhead answered making her smile "I'm so glad," Mrs. Gonzalez said with joy while putting her hands together "Yea. Thanks," the alpha said while adjusting Alex in his arms, before holding his hand out for Mrs. Gonzalez to take.
She gladly placed her hand into Kevin's as they began their trip downstairs together, with the alpha making sure she didn't trip or fall "How did you sleep?" he returned the question after a while "I slept well, thank you," she answered with joy.

The alpha nodded, glad to hear she slept well, as the two let go of each other's hands once they'd made it into the kitchen area.
Where Matthew's mom began taking out the ingredients they would need for breakfast while Kevin worked on trying to get Alex to wake up. 

But the kitten wasn't all too pleased about being woken up when he nuzzled his face into the alpha's neck until the redhead nipped at the brunette's ear earning a squeak from the startled Kit who instantly covered his head.

"Why'd you do that Fluffy?" Alex whined with a pout as he sleepily looked up at the redhead "I need to get breakfast prepared," Kevin answered when he put the kitten down in one of the chairs before standing up straight, then went over to the stove to start it up, while Alex watched him with a pout, still covering his ear. 

Mrs. Gonzalez giggled "Kevin, you shouldn't be biting others when you're waking them up," she said trying to warn the wolf "It gets them up faster," Kevin answered while going to wash his hands first, before touching any of the food.

"Still," she added while sneaking glances toward the still-pouting Kitten when she giggled once more "You should at least apologize to Alex," she said to which Kevin glanced over to Alex.

Before giving in as he soon dried off his hands and walked over to the kitten who looked up at him...

Breakfast was finally ready as Mrs. Gonzalez went to wake up the others, that being her son and husband, Jimmy was already at the table with Alex who was hiding his face in his arms embarrassed.

When Kevin sets a cup of coffee in front of Jimmy who looks at the cup in front of him, "You have work around 9 right," Kevin asks as he sets a cup of warm milk in front of the unresponsive kitten.

"Yea... But during lunch break, I'll need to pack an overnight back," the doctor says with a sigh before taking a sip of his coffee "I can pack it for you and bring it to you by lunch," the alpha says as he then went to make the two's plates.
"What about work?" the doctor asked as Alex peeked from his hiding place "I still have time to get it done, the deadline isn't until the end of January," Kevin answered while focusing on putting their food together, "Wow, how generous," Jimmy mumbled while leaning against his hand until his gaze landed on the kitten who was somewhat hiding behind his arms.

When Mrs. Gonzalez entered the kitchen with her husband and son following right behind her "Ok, Jimmy do you need a ride to work. I forgot to ask you earlier," she asked when the doctor was going to answer 'No' until Kevin answered for him.

"He does," the wolf says while putting his plate in front of him, then gave Alex his plate when the redhead felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Sit down Hijo, I'll fix your plate for you," she says to which the redhead nodded his head slightly, before taking a seat beside Alex while Mrs. Gonzalez went to serve everyone their breakfast as she hummed to herself slightly.

"Hey, what happened to Alex?" Matthew soon questioned when he noticed the quiet and unresponsive kitten.

"He's tired," Kevin answered while rubbing the neko's back earning another whine from the kitten but he knew he had to sit up and eat breakfast with everyone, or else his food would get cold...

Alex and Kevin were now walking together, making it the first time they ventured out in public with one another and the kitten was actually walking on his own, instead of being carried around, as they were doing some shopping together.

A few of the citizens within the town, they lived in would sneak glances or whisper about the two, as they've only ever seen the alpha walk around by himself or with three other brunettes.

But now, it seemed there was someone new, added to his rather small circle which was rather shocking, almost too shocking when they saw him carry this one around town for a while, meaning he actually cared for the shorter male.

This began a circulation of rumors to go around, as they wondered what this one's role would be in the Red Tornado's group.

"Fl- Kevin. What do we need?" Alex asked while quickly correcting himself due to the conversation they had before they left the house together, "Besides groceries and other necessities. We can also see if there are any other scents you prefer to wash with," the alpha replied while looking at his phone.

When Alex stepped closer to the redhead, he soon grabbed onto the alpha's winter coat, "Why can't I keep using yours?" the neko asked with a tilt of his head.

"Because you should see what others there are. Wouldn't you rather try other scents?" the alpha questioned as he glanced towards the kitten who shook his head "I like you're better," Alex admitted with innocence in his eyes and a slight blush on his face.
Only to earn a slight hum, from the alpha who adjusted his scarf a bit to cover half of his face when he felt Alex start to hold his hand, so he put their conjoined hands into his coat pocket.

"U-Um..." someone soon spoke up earning the two's attention as Kevin seemed to recognize the voice speaking to them before he stopped and looked over his shoulder to see a familiar girl who was hugging something close to her chest.
Her deep purple hair was braided into pigtails, with dark skin and thick-framed glasses on her face when the alpha let go of Alex's hand so he could turn around as the kitten did the same thing, while holding his hand to his chest, curious as to who this person was.

"M-mm-merry. I-I mean... H-happy New y-year," she stammered before holding out the gift to the redhead who looked at the present in front of him.

He sighed "Thanks," the alpha said, as the purple-haired teen looked up at him shocked when the redhead put his phone away and grabbed her wrist, not giving her the chance to run off this time as she squeaked at this, her eyes widening "Come with me," the redhead says to which, Alex began to smile.
"Is this her?" the brunette asked while immediatly following Kevin who was now dragging the poor girl with them as she tried to think of a way out of this situation.

But all that came to mind for her, was to babble nonsense, as her other hand held the gift that the alpha had refused to grab earlier, close to her chest so she wouldn't end up dropping it.

When Alex began to speak up "Thank you so much for the gift you gave him," he started off, which confused her as she tilted her head "I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't given that gift to Kevin. You've really saved my life," the brunette said with joy.

Her eyes widened, while her breathing hitched a bit, with one thing running through her mind...

He gave her gift away...
