“You’re taking me to him right?” I feel a little bit unsure whether Eric will keep his word about letting me see Ron. Pack members took the time to stop and bow as Eric’s car passed them. Until now, I’m not used to call Eric Alpha, it seemed very wrong, considering I have seen his fun side.
His silence meant maybe, or no. “YOU TOLD ME!” I shouted at him.
He threw me a glance. “We have no time for that. We need to get your wolf back immediately.” His foot stepped on the accelerator. “And what’s your plan?” I said a bit harsh. It won’t take a day to just say hello to Ron and catch up. It’s been years since I saw him and I want to know how badly he’d changed.
“We’re going to train.” He simply said. “Don’t we train every day?” I asked him.
“Not here.” He said with finality. So I just kept quiet till we arrive at the pack house.
“Grace!” Marinelle jumped from the couch and tackled me. “Whoa there.” I said.
“How are you?” Her voice didn’t really focus on her question. “What is it? Spill.” I said, walking past her. She had something to tell me obviously. “I’m coming with you guys.” She smiled at me.
I looked at Jake and Eric who were both grinning at me. “Can someone please tell me about where this trip is?” I placed both my hands in my hips. It was a sudden trip and they weren’t telling me any details about it!
“It’s a secret; we’ll be leaving tomorrow morning.” I stared at Eric mouth gaped. Tomorrow already? And what’s worse, in a Saturday morning!
Before I could even protest Marinelle grabbed me by the wrist and dragged me upstairs.
She threw herself on my bed. “I really like this.” She said as she bounced up and down.
“I noticed.” I laughed at her expression when she bounced higher than before. “You know about me huh?” I turned around to avoid seeing her. It was a shame that she knew about my past from another person. Speaking about that person, I’d better face him tomorrow.
She mumbled a yes. I went inside the closet to look for a bag. “How many days are we staying there?” I tried to divert the topic. It was very uncomfortable talking about it. I’ve had enough of reminiscing.
“A week or so.” She said as I felt her got up the bed and walk in my direction.
I tiptoed to grab the bag on the top cabinet. Marinelle stopped beside me to get the clothes in the hanger.
I threw the bag in the bed before taking the clothes left.
We were now both sitting in my queen sized bed. “I’ve had enough of my past.” I said, not bothering to look at her. I continue to fold the clothes and arrange it inside the luggage. I think I have to bring two luggages. The pile of clothes can take one and a half luggage, now I’m having trouble trying to squeeze my clothes.
“I met you that’s why I don’t think it’s pretty bad.” She smiled at me, and finally, I looked up at her. She was right. Everything bad things lead to some things or some people that can help you out of it.
We both laughed while folding my clothes. “I picked almost all of this.” She said proudly. “Really?” I looked at the colorful clothes in the bag, but mostly it was black and white, my favorite. “How did you know it was my style?” I asked her, returning the smile.
She shrugged, “I don’t know, I just felt like it.”
And we both fell into another fit of laughter. Not because we find something funny, but because we enjoy each other’s presence.
