I’m starting to think that I’m a magnet that attracts the ground, or vice versa. Before John could flip me again, I raised my hands in surrender “Wait! Let me catch my breath! I’m dying!” I said in exasperation.
“Not this again.” He gave me a glare, “I’m not gonna pull this trick on you again!” I said n defense, “I’m really tired.” Yeah, tired of standing up.
“It seems like you’re having trouble fighting.” Eric said, walking in our direction. “You haven’t noticed.” I rolled my eyes as I place both my hands in my knees.
He inspected me like I’m a frog on a Biology project. He looked at me from head to toe, making me throw him a glare. “What are you doing?” I demanded, but he just looked at my eyes with concentration, making me move awkwardly. Staring is rude, and it makes me conscious.
“Your wolf is missing.” He said in panic. For a moment my heart became lonely and sad, the same feeling I had when I realized my wolf really was, but I covered it up in an instant. Jake immediately went to my side and grabbed my head with both his hands and stared at me like Eric did. His eyes searching for something in mine. Then he mirrored his brother’s reaction when he got his answer.
“Since when?” Jake said, tilting my head in different angles making me a little bit dizzy. “Jake stop it.” Eric ordered his brother, who removed his hand but he was still staring at me like I’ve lost my head.
Jake looked at Eric, they seemed to be talking about me on their minds. I couldn’t hear it because my wolf, like they said, was missing. And my instinct decreased the moment she left. Which means that I’m half werewolf.
Jake let out a shaky breath as he returned to the pack house. I looked at John who just stared at me with his same expression. “I know.” He shrugged, “I felt it.” He continued.
Then I growled at him “You intentionally threw me on the ground.”
He smiled at me.
“Your mean.” I said in a serious tone.
“This isn’t the time to be bickering.” Eric said, his hand touching his chin as if on deep concentration. He didn’t know? Well, of course Grace, he wouldn’t be like that if he did.
“We have to get you checked up.” Eric said, grabbing my arm before leading me to the pack doctor.
He barged into the office, making everyone look at him, but when they noticed it was their Alpha, they bowed before looking away. But it didn’t save me from the dirty looks others were throwing.
“Where’s the doctor?” Eric said to a girl in a uniform. “Alpha.” She bowed before pointing to the door at the far end of the hall, Eric didn’t wait for the girl who was about to say something instead, he dragged me to the white glass door.
“Alpha.” I didn’t see who the doctor was because Eric was blocking my view. “Could you please examine her.” He said, straight to the point. “Who?” that voice was familiar but I ignored it, it must be someone I ran into in the streets.
He brought me to his front, making me face a familiar blonde haired boy. I gasped the same time he did.
My heart letting out a sigh of relief as Zach made his way to me. The memories replaying like a broken DVD as he hugged me tight. “I missed you.” Zach buried his face in my neck, his familiar scent filling my nose. “Me too.” I said, trying to blink back the tears trying to escape.
“I thought you were dead.” He let go of me, but his hands stayed on my shoulders as he looked at me from head to toe. “Okay that’s enough.” I smiled at him. That’s enough of looking for today, it’s making me really awkward.
He motioned to the seat in front of his table. I sat down without a second to spare and he did too.
“A lot of things happened Nathalie.” I winced at the name. “Grace. Call me Grace.” He looked at me confused, “Grace.” I insisted and he shrugged it off.
“Tell me about it, you’re a doctor! A pack doctor!” I hugged him again, very proud of my best friend.
If you’re a little bit confused about the situation, let me give you a background.
Zach and I have been best friends for 10 years now. So we were already friends when I still had a ribbon on my hair. I thought he died in the middle of our battle with the poison spitting ‘werewolves’. We haven’t seen each other for 7 years, since I became Grace and all. So going back..
He smiled warmly at me after I let go of him. “I got an inspiration to do so.” He shrugged again.
My smile widened. I nudged him as a glint appeared in my eyes. “Who is it? Have you found your mate?”
“I’m not telling. And yes I have found my mate.”
I felt giddy as I playfully pinch his arm, “Isn’t that weird for you. Your mate’s your inspiration.”
He frowned at me. “I answered two different questions.” He finished with a grin.
I gasped as I hit him on his arm, making him let out an ouch. “You’re cheating!”
His eyes widened and denied it instantly, “I became a doctor before I found her!” he said his hands up in defense.
I glared at him, “Are you serious?”
He nodded eagerly.
Then unconsciously I looked around the room to see Eric gone, when did he leave? And he didn’t even tell me.
“When will you let me meet her?” I said, returning back to the topic.
His eyes lit up “You already did.”
OH MY GOODNESS. IT WAS THE NURSE!
My mind went into hyperactive mode as I stood up. “No no no no!!” he said.
“You’re not keeping her away from me, I gotta talk to her.” I said eagerly.
“She’s working.” He said in a smile.
“And we both need to catch up.” He gave me a ‘sit down and listen’ look.
“Okay, but you won’t stop me after this.” I said.
“Why of course milady.” He grinned.
So I sat down and I started talking. Starting from when Luke died, up to the situation now.
