Gasping, Cinderpaw took in the ThunderClan territory, even before she took a step out of the camp she knew it would be the most wonderful thing she'd ever seen.
"Follow me, if you want to see the whole territory in time." Shallowleaf said, pushing the grey apprentice forwards with his tail.
Cinderpaw nodded, and followed her mentor as they made their way through the territory.
"...And this is the lake." Shallowleaf said, after they had reached the end of their territory. "See that island in the center?"
"Yes." Cinderpaw replied, looking at the island, in the middle of all the clans' territories.
"Well that's where the Gathering are held. Speaking of which, the next one is coming up, and you'll get to go," The grey tom stated, looking at his apprentice.
"Really?!"
"Yes, really." Came the response. "But we should be heading back, the sun's high in the sky and we don't want to tire you out too much."
Cinderpaw nodded, and she and her mentor started to make their way back to ThunderClan camp.
The small grey she-cat looked about the forest, taking in all the wonders of their territory. She still couldn't believe all this was her home, it seemed so big.
After what seemed like mere moments later, they reached the camp. Cinderpaw bolted in, excited to tell Featherleap all about it.
She spotted her mother, and raced up to her. "The territory is so big! Shallowleaf showed me the lake, and all the trees, and, and -"
"Slow down, Cinderpaw." Featherleap laughed, lookin down at her kit. "Why don't you get some prey, then we can talk about it."
Nodding, Cinderpaw raced off to grab some prey from the fresh-kill pile, still excited about the day.
She grabbed a mouse, and brought it back over to where Featherleap was sitting. Quickly eating it, Cinderpaw continued to tell Featherleap about her day.
For the next couple days, Cinderpaw practiced her hunting and fighting techniques, and everything was great.
She became friends with the other apprentices, and she loved her first gathering.
   But one day...
"That was so much fun!" Deerpaw said, jumping on his sister. Laughing, she pushed him off.
"I just love when we get to practice our moves on each other. It's a good way to be able to fight your sibling without getting in trouble." Teased Cinderpaw, cuffing her brother gently over the ear.
"Hey! Wait." Paused the brown apprentice, "do you smell that?"
"I don't smell anything." Cinderpaw replied. "Let's get some fresh-kill then sit with Featherleap. How does that sound?"
"Okay." Deerpaw replied, but Cinderpaw could hear he wasn't quite sure about it.
After grabbing some fresh-kill, they sat down by their mother, and started telling her about their day.
Suddenly a cat cried out in alarm, then Ashheart bolted into camp. "Intruder!" She yelled.
