Anaya's P.O.V

"Who is that?" My dad asks
"Oh... uh... It's Halima" I lie
"Halima?" He asks
"Yeah you know? Halima from Bradford?" I lie again
"Okay but why have you got a picture of the boy next door as her picture?" He asks
"Because she likes him and she changed it when she had my phone on results day" I lie again
"Oh okay well I'll let you two speak" he says and kisses my forehead

"Bye dad" I say as he walks out the door and shuts it behind him
I ring Harris back and he picks up straight away.
"Why didn't you pick up?" He asks
"Dad was in the room and he saw your I.D" I say

"Oh yeah? What's my I.D?" He asks and I can just imagine him smirking
"Erm... You tell me yours first" I say
"Fine, I saved you as Minnie" he says simply
"I saved you as Jungy" I lie and then remind myself to change it later
"So how come your dad didn't say anything?" He asks

"I told him you were Halima and that she might've changed it on results day when she had my phone" I explain
"Okay that's clever" he says
"I know" I reply proudly
"You're so modest" he comments sarcastically
"I take after you" I repeat and he chuckles

"I can literally imagine you rolling your eyes right now" I say and he laughs again
"Well you're imagining correctly" he says and I smile
"We haven't hung out in ages" I say
"Well you're busy with life innit" he says and I smile sadly

"I know, literally I feel like I have no life. All I do is wake up, go to college and if I finish college late, I'll come home and eat and go to sleep and when I finish early, I go to work straight away. Legit have no time for life anymore, it's proper stressful" I rant
"Damn did you take a breath?" He laughs

"So can we hang out some time?" He asks
"I don't know, I can't be arsed going out" I reply
"Not even for shopping?" He asks
"You're willing to go shopping with me?" I ask surprised
"If it means it's the only way to spend time with you then yeah, I'm willing to go shopping with you" he answers

"Awww that's so cute" I gush and he chuckles
His laugh is so cute. I can literally picture him blushing right now.
"So can we hang out then?" He asks
"Yeah, I'm free tomorrow" I reply
"Great" he says

"Hey, can I ask you something?" I ask
"Yeah" he answers
"Do you ev-" I stop, "wait actually, no forget it"
"No, ask me" he says
"No it's nothing" I say quickly
"Anaya! Come on" he encourages

"It's just, can you imagine what life would be like if we hadn't met at the naat competition?" I ask and he just goes quiet
"All I can say is life would be very different" he answers after a few minutes
"Mmm" I reply
"Do you remember when you were talking to your friends about me?" He ask referring to the time when I was describing Harris as the new cute guy I had met

"No" I lie
"You're not good at lying" he says simply
"Ugh yes I am!" I protest
"Ha okay" he laughs
"Remember the time you and the boys walked into my suite by accident and you couldn't even talk properly and you introduced yourself as H-Harris?" I smirk

"Oh yeah, you looked so beautiful I was speechless" he says and I laugh
"I'm pretty sure I was wearing an oversized hoodie and leggings" I reply
"Yeah, you make a bin bag look good" he says
"Aww" I gush

He is literally the cutest. By far the cutest.

"Okay it's four in the morning and I need to get to sleep otherwise I won't wake up on time tomorrow" I say
"Well I'll let you sleep because I've learned from my mistakes" he says
"Yeah I'm pretty sure you don't want to be waiting for hours while I get ready" I say
"No" he chuckles

"Bye Jungy" I say
"Bye Minnie" he says and I hang up
I put my phone on the side and lie down.

I sigh, what did I do to deserve Harris?

I stretch and grab my phone from the side table to check the time. 12:30pm. Not bad.

I get up and straighten my covers. I jump in the shower. Once I get out of the shower I just sit on my bed and stare into space.
Do I even have to do anything today?
Yes you do, you promised Harris!
But would be mind?
Of course he'd mind! You haven't hung out since before results day
But there's so many other days to hang out! Why today?
Because the weather will turn shit and then you won't be able to go anywhere

After two minutes of a silent debate with myself, I decide to get off my fat ass and get changed. That is until my phone starts to ring.

It's Ali.
"Hi" I answer
"Anaya?" Ali asks in a serious tone
"What is it?" I ask worried
"It's..." His voice breaks

Oh my god, what's happened?
"...My dad" he manages to say
"What about him? Is he okay?" I ask hastily with tears threatening to spill

"He's not doing... good" he finally says

Basically, I had a bit of a writers block and I had literally zero motivation to carry on writing. I swear I even thought about deleting this book😬
