Edward's POV

Detective Bullock chuckled nervously for a bit until he finally spoke. "Y-Yeah, I was just being colorful Ed, I'm sorry." I could tell by his face that he was lying. He was such a horrible liar at that. I was crushing the rose even harder without worrying about the strength of the gloves. "It's extremely rare and expensive. I can imagine there are one or two producers in Gotham. I can research manufacturers if you would like." I looked at Detective Bullock with a sarcastic face.

He was still shocked and my move. Crushing the rose was clearly a threat, I to crush him into microscopic pieces.  "That would be really nice. Thank you, Ed." There was a patterned knock at the door, a chirpy one in particular. "Come in." Grace walked in, and both Detectives immediately looked at her. "I just wanted to tell the three of you that, if I don't get to keep my job, it has been interesting." She put her hand on Jim's shoulder.

Is that a face of jealousy I see? I haven't seen that face since when you walked in on Tom and Kristen kissing. That was hilarious. Also, your face is red.

I turned my back to the three of them. There was some chatter, but I didn't listen. Instead, I went over to my desk and sat down. There were some files on my desk that I needed to look at. I heard two sets of footsteps going out the door, and another set striding towards me. "What happened? You are clearly upset." Grace questioned.

I took a deep sigh before answering. "Detective Bullock was being smart. He came to me for help and treats me like an imbecile." She walked over closer and knelt down to my level. "Edward, you aren't. In fact, you are one of the nicest men I have ever met." I smiled wide and chuckled, and she did too. Her cheeks turned a deep red.

She's blushing at you. Finally, a woman shows some affection to you.

"So, is this dinner going to be a date?" I looked up at her, and she was being serious. "I-If you want it to be, then yes, but then I have to cook." She rolled her eyes slightly. "You don't have to cook, Chinese food is fine. You do enough already." Grace patted me on my shoulder and walked out of the lab.

"So, what do you think? Seems that she likes you." He was in the corner staring at me. "Don't you dare touch her." When I said that, a chuckle escaped his mouth. "What are you, stupid? I would never hurt that girl. She's different."
