"So, shall we start our ballroom dance now?" cooed my dad's business partner after the business planning had ended.
Okay, this is the first time I've ever attended a business meeting which held a ballroom dancing session.
No wonder I was asked to wear a black silk suit here.
Not bad for an idea to let business partner to get closer to one another though.
Soon, each and everyone of the young shareholders, which including me were given a masquerade mask to wear.
Seriously? Which insane person would come out this kind of idea to be held at a business meeting.
I literally face palmed myself for the stupid idea to whoever organized this.
This is soooo not my dad's idea.
I was so uninterested.
I put down the glass of wine and tried to walk out of the hall.
The music is killing me.
"Where do u think u're going Kris Wu Yi Fan?" the sharp voice from behind called me.
"Oh hi mum! I was just about to-, yah know? Catch some air outside." I said in a tone that I wanted to escape.
"Nuh ah'ah, u're not going anywhere. You're staying here til the ball ends and that's it. Oh and it seems that you don't have a partner for your dance, go ahead to that young lady over there. She would be delighted to dance with the famous Kris Wu, CEO of Wu Inc." answered my mum.
Something is going on. I can sense it.
"But mum, you know very well-.."
"No buts Wu Fan! Go go, the clock is ticking and this is your first time attending this kind of business meeting, there's more to come in the near future." she was about to scold me.
I sigh for what she've said to me. I hate the fact that my mum is always right. They ARE gonna be more meetings like this in the near future. What can I say?
I took a few steps approaching the petite girl in the mask near the very far corner. It seems that we're the only 2 young heirs who are available and doesn't have a partner yet. I'm not shy to ask ANY girl out. How hard could it be right? It's just a dance.
"May I have this dance?" I asked her with my deep voice while reaching out my hand towards her.
Thump thump. I can hear my heart race inside of me. She's beautiful, with her elegant ballroom dress and her long hair which falls in place.
"I'd be honored to have this dance." she answer with a smile stretched on her lips.
We were dancing to the slow music, my hand was around her small waist, she wrapped one of her arms around my neck and our other hands were interlaced together. There was barely any space in between us.
Thump thump. There goes my heart again. It's been awhile I never felt this way. She's just the right height for me. Girl, you're my style.
Sooner or later, we were the centre of attraction in whole ballroom.
I can sense that they're hundreds of people watching and giving us a smile and muttering the words 'both of them looks so good together'.
I can sense that she's blushing too.
Seconds became minutes, minutes eventually became longer than I thought. I decided to start a conversation to break the awkward silence we had between us.
"Can I-" both of us said the same time. While we were still dancing.
"Nevermind, you go first" she offered me.
"May I know your name?" I asked her out of curiosity.
"I though u wouldn't ask, my name is Heyley Song-..'
At the moment when I was about to hear the next word she was about to say. The lights went out. It was completely pitch black.
She was out from my embrace.
'Heyley! Heyley!' I shouted.
There was no answer but all I can hear was muttering from all different angles throughout the ballroom raising their voice to let the authorities to put the lights back on.
When the light was finally on. I took off the mask I had on.
Heyley was no where to be found. All it's left was the pin on the floor she was wearing just now.
I pick it up and kept it in my pocket right that instance.
Where could she be? Did she just leave me hanging? No, this is not gonna happen to me again.
More importantly, I wanna know what does she looks like behind that mask. I'm sure she's beautiful.
