[ Sorry for the late update, my phone is broken so please understand. ]

Heyley

I arrived home quite late in the evening after leaving Kris’s place and it was nice trying something new. For once in my life, I actually felt I’ve known someone for so long but yet I just met him during the beginning of the year.

As I stepped in my house, I was greeted with a line of maids waiting for me and my parents with unfamiliar expression written on their faces and not to mention they were both having their arms crossed. Oh oh, I think I’m in trouble.

“Where have you been young lady?” my dad jerked his head eyeing me with death notes.

“Honey! Don’t be so hard on her alright?” my mum half yelled as she slapped one of my dad’s arm.

“What? You want me to go easy on her when she’s out without Steve and Jay knowing? And she’s driving her Porche around, don’t you think she’ll be an

“I’m sure she has her own reason. So where have you been Heyley?” my mum asked turning her gaze to me.

“I was… out.”

“WITH WHOM?!?” both of my parents yelled in sync.

I stood there wondering whether to tell or to hide the relationship I’m having with Kris. I’m afraid they would be shock because they’re already close to him or worst, they might not like him as my boyfriend.

“Anyhow, from the looks of your appearance, I’m sure it’s a guy. Whatever it is, I want to meet him.” My eyes widened at his sudden order.

“Wh- what? I—“

“That’s right, Heyley. We want to meet him,” My mum followed.

“Just.. Don’t be surprise if you really meet him,” I answered and they nodded in agreement.

As soon as I went up to my bedroom, dinner was already placed on the table beside my bed. I guess my parents knew I wouldn’t skip dinner.

Ring. Ring. I fished out my phone immediately and I couldn’t help but smiled at the caller ID.

“Hey baby, did you arrive home safely?” Kris’s husky voice sounded from the other line. He never fails to send chills down my spine every time he calls.

“Yeah, miss me already?” I teased and I could already sense that he’s smiling.

“Of course I miss you. Anyhow, there’s this musical that’s been the talk of the town recently. I’ve been wanting to watch it though. So what do you say? Tomorrow after office hours? And it’s Friday tomorrow,” Kris asked.

“Wow you really do have a soft spot for music. Sure, why not? Oh and, my parents happened to wonder where did I went just now and they assumed I went out with some guy,” I said to him scratching the back of my neck.

“Oh really? Why didn’t you say you were with your boyfriend?” he said while laughing.

“Yeah that’s the thing. They want to meet you as soon as possible,” I sigh in concern.

“I didn’t hear wrongly, did I? Why don’t I come over by surprise after watching the musical tomorrow?” Kris asked suggesting an idea.

“You sure? Are you ready for – this?” I asked with a hint of guilt.

“I am. They already met me as the CEO of Wu and WS Co. anyway and there comes a day I would finally be able to introduce myself as your man to my ever so loving girlfriend’s parents,” he teased from the other line.

“You’re so cheesy Kris. You and your ways of flirting,” I scoffed in amusement.

”I’m only cheesy for you babe. It’s getting late, goodnight. I love you,” he sang and that made me blush like a maniac.

“Goodnight, I love you too.” And with that, I hung up immediately.

__________

I made my way over to Kris’s office at it was lunch time. I checked my wrist watch over and over again making sure that the time was correct. Because just yesterday Kris’s was so lovey dovey towards me but today, he didn’t even gave me his usual morning call or even a morning visit as soon as he received the signal of me entering the WS building from Hyunsik.

“Good morning, Ms. Song! Lunch out with Mr. Wu again today?” he greeted me with a friendly tone.

“Good morning to you too Hyunsik. Is Kris inside?” I asked worriedly.

“Yes he is. But ever since he clocked in, he was really in a bad mood and I was wondering if you’d know the answer. Did something happen yesterday?” He asked.

That’s strange. What could possibly go wrong yesterday? He perfectly greeted me a goodnight before I hung up. He even gave me a goodbye kiss before I left his house. What’s happening?

“I’ll clear things out,” I said to Hyunsik and turned to Kris’s office door.

Before I could even knock on his door, the door swung itself open revealing Kris on the phone dressed in his long dress coat which clearly means he’s heading out.

“Heyy---

“WHAT?!? FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME. OKAY, I WILL BE THERE!” Kris yelled to the other line of the phone and walked past me ignoring my presence.

Thump. I felt my cold two feet stoned against the floor as I stood there.  Instantly I felt my throat go dry all of a sudden and a pang of disappointment wash over me. Did he not realize I was there?

I made my way over the elevator slowly and Kris was long gone. I guess he’s busy. Seems like I would be having lunch alone.

___________

I stretched both of my hands in the air as office hours ended as I occupied myself with stacks of nonstop workload forgetting the incident that happened. I grab my car keys and took long strides towards Kris’s office.

As the elevator slid open revealing Hyunsik and carrying his office case.

“Anneong Ms. Song, office hours are over. What brings you heading up this floor?” He asked.  Wait, did everyone went home already?

“Did Mr. Wu left already?” I asked worriedly with a hint of confusion.

“Oh no, he was out since lunch hours and he didn’t clock in after that. But he did left a message telling me to pick up all the calls for him when he’s not around,” he answered.

“Very well then,”  I said to him as he entered the elevator.

As I got into my car, I fished out my phone and I couldn’t deny the fact I was more than sad to see zero calls or message from him. I zoomed out of the parking place and headed towards the place where the musical event would be held as Kris mentioned yesterday. Maybe he’s there.

I looked around the place as eyed people walking in and out of the hall after shows and shows. I’m starting to feel lonely and jealous seeing all the couples holding hands and I’m here all alone.

I took a seat on the bench at the far corner of the place and held my phone tight in my hands. I waited and waited and waited. I could even feel there was a time lapse going on here.

I checked my wrist watch for the hundredth time today and began to realize I’ve been waiting for more than 2 hours. Before I knew it, tears landed on the screen of my phone as I eyed the picture of us.

He didn’t show up.

He bailed on me.

How could he do this to me?
