Heyley

After the meeting, my dad and I headed the airport to send Nara off, and now I'm crying like a baby. I wish she won't leave me. I shrugged my shoulders as I hugged Nara tight and squinted my eyes as tears kept escaping.

"Yah, your tears are wetting my sweater here. It's not like I'm leaving you forever right?" She said as she cupped my face.

"Do you have to leave? It's such a short notice. I didn't even get to spend much time with you," I answered as she caressed my tears away.

"Aiya, you're not the little Heyley anymore. Come on! You can always take a few days off and visit me right? Plus, grandma and grandpa are forever asking for you," she said as her mouth curved into a smile.

"Won't you miss me?" I asked playfully.
"Actually I do, I didn't tell anyone here but I'm actually going back there because my parents kind of arranged a marriage thing for me and they want me to meet him asap, I heard it was my high school friend so I couldn't say no," Nara said and that statement just left my mouth hanging.

"What?! And you didn't tell me. Chinja, am I really your closest cousin?!" I stomped my feet and slapped her arms.
"Ouh! It hurts you know! Sorry it was unexpected and I didn't want you to get all worked up for it. And don't worry, IF this guy is just my taste, you'll be my maid of honor on the day I walk down the isle," she winked.

"Okay if you say so! It's almost a year I left Canada but I'm missing that place already. Send my regards to the cousins clan especially your annoying brother. He never fails to annoy me in every single way," I chuckled.

Don't even let me count how many Canadian cousins I have back in Canada because there's too many. I even lost count. Although we're all busy all around the world handling different Song Inc branch, we never fail to make every single moment worthless when we meet. I miss all of them so much.
"Yeah yeah, tell me about it. Now that I'm in Canada, that means more work for you young lady! I heard that you're gonna be the new director here after this project is done," she said giving my cheeks a firm squeeze.

"Really? Gosh how come I didn't know anything?" I asked cluelessly.

"You so need to visit the headquarters
more often. And by the way, don't forget to find a good man. Stop rejecting people okay? Oh and maybe you'll find your Prince Charming tomorrow night," she said to me.

"What do you mean tomorrow night? Oh you mean the masquerade ball?" I asked her and she nodded.

"I have to go, call me if you need anything, okay? Unnie loves you! Goodbye!" She gave me a last hug and a kiss on my left cheek. And there she goes, entering the departure hall. I couldn't help but felt empty all of a sudden.

"Agasshi, is time to pick up your new dress for tomorrow's event," Jay whispered to my ear.

"Ahhh yes, I almost forgot. Let's go," I entered the car silently.

I starred at my reflection and tried on the silver mask I once wore when I first danced with Heyley.

I remembered vividly how we danced so close together leaving no space in between as our chest were pressing against each other. She's very good in dancing and her height was perfect to be my partner.

I regretted for not confessing to her that night but thanks to the short circuit that happened, it took longer than it was suppose to be to find her.
I recalled the few days after the event last few months, and to think I kept meeting her over and over again, it was somehow a tragic fate. First I bumped into her in Starbucks and next was the night and the following week was at Song Inc.
