*Hazel's POV*

The boys took me to the cafeteria—which was outside. The tables and benches were the school colors. It was pretty nice. "This is where we eat, we talk, and where all the drama happens." Andrew said looking around. "The food's okay." Mars shrugged.

"Mars eats school lunch. We don't." Grant said. "Yeah and when they do. They take my food!" Mars muttered. "Oh cheer up! It just means we're great friends!" Ryan smiled. "Let's go!" Andrew started walking, leading up to the table. People started to stare and everyone went silent. The boys ignored it and sat down at a table in the middle of the court yard.

"Are you eating?" Mars asked me? "Yeah. I'm getting lunch in the line." I pulled out my ID that I took on orientation. "Awesome. Let's go." Mars smiled. "Have fun!" Grant laughed. Mars then took me to the lunch line.

"Earlier Grant told me something about you guys being popular or golden boys. What's that about?" I asked. I knew everything I just wanted his opinion. He turned to me as we stepped in line. "Well apparently we're popular or something because of our looks and ability skills. I find it really odd." "Hmm." I said thinking. The line moved quickly and we got our food and scanned our cards.

"Back so soon!" Andrew laughed. "Very funny." Mars laughed. I didn't know what they were talking about so I took a seat next to Mars. "So Hazel, do you know what 21 questions is?" Grant looked across the table at me. "Um, just a hunch but is it a game where we ask 21 questions?" I thought sarcastically. "Yeah. We can play so we can know you and you can know us." Grant replied.

"Okay, ummm. I go first." Andrew said taking the apple from Mars' plate. Mars frowned but Andrew continued anyway. "Hazel, what is your favorite color?" "Probably red." I had to think. "So is mine!" Ryan shouted. I laughed. "Mmmm." Mars thought. "Hazel when is your birthday?" "July 9th." Hazel said then her table went quiet. Did I do something wrong?

"Um, did I say something wrong?" I asked. Andrew gave a dry cough and looked at Mars. I turned to Mars and he was staring back at me. His eyes had a bit of sorrow in them. He got really sad. He finally said, "My parents had past on that day. In a train accident. I live in a foster home now..." Mars trailed off.

My eyes got really wide. "Mars I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to say that. I didn't eve-" He cut me off. "It's fine." He put a fake smile on his face. "I promise. It really is. I mean they weren't even really there for me and my sister. It's fine. I promise." I couldn't help but feel really sad for him. I only knew him for a day and suddenly I care for this boy I don't even know.

But thank goodness for Andrew's personality. "So Hazel what's your favorite amusement park?" Mars tore his eyes from mine. "Probably Six Flags." I replied. "How about you?" "Disneyland." Ryan bit the apple. "I've never been there." I said. Everyone's eyes widen. "Are you serious?!?" Mars said still shaking out some sadness. "Yeah. I'm serious." I looked around the table. "Weird." Grant said. "We should all exchange numbers." Grant looked at Andrew. "For homework and stuff." "Oh yeah. Totally." I agreed. I pulled out my phone and typed in the password and gave it to Grant.

He looked at my phone case then showed it to the table. "Black phone case?" He asked looking at me with confusion. "What? I like that color." I shrugged. "I can tell." Ryan looked at my backpack. "What kind of phone do you have?" Grant asked taking out his phone. "iPhone 7." I puzzled. "Great!" He then took his phone case off of his phone and replaced mine with his. He took mine and put it in his phone. "Here you go. Now your less emo." Grant showed me the back if my phone. It was now a white and blue pattern strip. "Nice." I admired it. Grant typed in his number and passed my phone around the table.

Mars handed me my phone back and Grant asked, "Hazel, you only have like two girl contacts in here? What's up?" Everyone looked at me. "Well the two in there are my sister and mom. I don't really like to hang out with girls because the way they are. All the girls I've meet are really rude. And I've grown up with my brother as my best friend so I guess that's where it came from." I explained to all of them. "So your a tomboy?" Mars asked. "I guess you could say that." I smiled at him.

The rest of the lunch period was basically us talking and laughing. It was nice that I made friends on my first day. I wondered how Terrance was doing.
