*Mar's POV*
I turned off my phone and began walking to Wendy's. I just dropped Hazel off. I had a good time with her and I hope she had a good time with me.
Honestly, I think I still do have feelings for Hazel. I asked Bryan if it was okay for me to ask her out and he approved.
I thought he would be angry and say no. But he didn't. He said he'd support me. I'm glad to have a friend like him and the rest of them. But when should I ask Hazel?
As I walked I thought if I should ask her in person or over text. I decided in person because then all the magic would be gone over text. And plus that's a cowards way. I'm not a coward anymore.
I got in the car after waiting for Adrianna to pick me up. "Hi, Mars!" Delilah smiled. "Hi, Delilah." I smiled. "Well you look happy." Adrianna puzzled. "I'll tell you later." I grinned. "Okay." Adrianna said.
"You hungry, Delilah?" She asked looking back. She nodded. "Chicken nuggets, please!" "Alright." Adrianna said getting out some money.
"Can I get something?" I asked. "What?! No you ate ice cream fatty!" Adrianna laughed hitting me playfully. I laughed as she got out the car.
"Delilah?" I asked looking back. "Mars?" Delilah said mocking my tone. "What do girls like in presents?" I asked. Her eyes got wide.
"Well, I don't know, Mars, it depends on the girl. Who is it!?" She bounced clutching Brown Sugar. I laughed. "If I tell you you can't tell anyone." She nodded her head rapidly.
"Okay, I want to ask Hazel to be my girlfriend and I want to get her present too." I smiled just thinking about her. "EEEEEE!!!" Delilah squealed. "I KNEW IT!!!!" She said bouncing.
"Gosh, Delilah. Tell the whole dang world shall you!" I laughed. Her eyes got bigger. "No! I was joking!" I said knowing what she was thinking.
"Okay. Okay. Okay. Can I tell Sabrina?" She asked. I thought about it for a moment. "Mmmm.... Fine. But, she can't tell anyone." I nodded. She smiled. "But seriously, what should I get her?" I asked.
Delilah thought about it. "Get her a necklace." Delilah grinned. "A pretty one." "Okay. We'll have to ask Adrianna to take us to a store." I said.
Adrianna got in the car and handed Delilah her food. "Why am I taking you guys to the store?" She asked raising an eyebrow. Delilah started bouncing.
She can't keep a secret.
"Can I tell her!" Delilah asked. "Tell me what?" Adrianna looked at me. "Fine." I sighed to Delilah. "Mars is gonna ask out Hazel and he needs to buy a necklace!!!" Delilah said relived.
"OMG! Mars? Are you serious." Adrianna looked at me. I nodded my head. "Anna, you owe me money!" Delilah laughed holding out her hand. "What?" I asked.
"We bet that you and Hazel would get together. If not I owe her money and if you did she owes me money!" She smiled.
"You guys bet on us!" I said shocked. "Yeah. I knew I shouldn't have!" Adrianna said giving Delilah two quarters. "So, when are you going to ask her?" Adrianna asked.
"I think tomorrow but I don't know where." I thought. "Maybe your Spot." Adrianna said. I looked at her confused. "How do you know about that?" I asked quickly. "You talk in your sleep sometimes." She laughed.
"Yeah. You should probably get that fixed." Delilah pointed. I rolled my eyes.
I've never told anyone about My Spot. It's been a secret. But should I ask her there? It would be a chance for her to know me. But also a chance for her to know where I am when I get sad.
But I think I should. It's a special place to me and I want to share it with a special person in my life.
But how will I ask her? Do I just do it bluntly or...
"Mars?" Adrianna asked. I looked up at her. "Yeah?" I asked. "Do you wanna get a necklace now?" She asked turning on the car.
"Uh. Yeah." I nodded. "YAY!" Delilah smiled as we pulled out the Wendy's parking lot.
-------------------------------------------------------
"That one." I said pointing to the necklace in the display case. "That's a good choice. Very pretty. She'll like it." The cashier smiled. "I hope so." I said a bit nervous.
Delilah squeezed my hand. "Don't worry, Mars. She'll love it!" I smiled at her. "Thanks for the support."
"So you'll take it?" The man asked. "Yes." I nodded. "Alright." He said. He got the necklace and brought it to the cash register. He put it in a tiny box and then put it in a bag.
"$249.00" He said setting the bag down on the glass counter. I pulled out the money from my pocket. It was the money from the heist. I hated looking at it. I gave it to him and he put it in the cash register.
"Here you go. Have a nice day." He said giving me the bag. "Thank you." I smiled.
We all got in the car and I sat and looked at the necklace. I really just bought this. "Well, I mean obviously." Adrianna laughed. I looked at her. I guess I said that out loud.
"Do you think she'll like it?" I asked. "Yes. I do. I think she'll love it." Adrianna explained. "What if she says no?" I said worried. "Then she'd be crazy! How do you say no to you?!" Delilah said.
"Thanks." I smiled. "So, I'll ask her tomorrow at My Spot. I'll give her the necklace then ask her out." I said sitting back. "I really hope she says yes."
I decided to text everyone except Hazel so it wouldn't turn out a surprise. A few minutes later they all agreed saying I should.
I really hope she says yes.
