Ruby
I was entranced by his voice and his face. I was entranced by his words and what they all meant together. I was entirely and completely entranced by him and there was no denying it.
When he first appeared in the garden he had looked to be nervous but then he had changed to be a little unsure by this whole situation.
I understood him, I was a high positioned guard and had much work to do and it understandingly took up most of me time so it wasn't a surprise that he would be shocked, I was shocked myself that I even did this and I think everyone else at the castle is too but it's not much to do about it.
I had been nervous since I woke up, wondering if he would show up or if he wouldn't. I had wondered if he had gotten the note or not and the go like that.
In order to be a lie to meet him this morning I had been working earlier and done everything I would have done later this day at the morning.
I hadn't eaten to much as I had felt really nervous when the time ticked by and the meeting got close and I had skipped the breakfast in the big hall today and decided to wait in the garden until he came or didn't show up at all.
My relief when I had saw him was unexplainable and my feelings at that time had been all over the place and unfamiliar.
Now they were all collected but I still didn't now what they meant, only that they were caused by him and I liked it. I weren't sure it was good to be feeling this way though, I don't think this will make my life or job easier.
I have a feeling things will get a lot more complicated from now on, I felt good though. For now.
I felt content in listening to Jasper's constant babbling as he began to relax and talk more openly to me.
He told me all about the wolves that was now trotting ahead of us. He had found the brown, white and red wild in the forest when the wind was only a youngling and had taken care of him ever since, the male wolfs name was Kaden.
The white female have suddenly appeared by Kadens side during a hunt and she had really just tagged along and now she was considered one of them.
Her slightly big stomach made it difficult for her to walk but that didn't seem to stop her, only slowing her down a bit making all of us slowing down our pace too.
We were alone, I didn't talk if it weren't to answer any off his questions, he made most off the the talking and he seemed really confident and oppiniated.
He seemed to be a drawn back person, appreciating his closest friends and books more than other people.
He were confident but he wouldn't talk or tell what he thought if he didn't feel comfortable and I was happy that he felt comfortable enough to talk so openly to me.
We had been at almost every floor that he was allowed to be on and I had pointed out the most visited places by visitors in the castle to him.
He seemed to enjoy the library better though as that is the only place we have stayed on.
Right now he was striding down the hallways of bookshelves stuffed with books, reading the book titles and taking a closer look to those he found interesting.
Kaden and Sheila had slumped to the floor and was resting now as they had done the last ten minutes and I leaned against a bookshelves, following Jasper with my gaze as he moved around the room.
The time was slowly drifting away and I felt disappointed when I looked at the clock and saw I had to go back to work in half an hour.
Three hours, I had spent three hours with Jasper and I never wanted to leave. This definitely isn't good, I can't get attached with him, after the competition he will leave the castle and u would never see him again if he didn't come back next year.
"Jasper?" I said after a while, deciding it was probably beat to escort him back in to his rooms now when I still had time and wasn't in a hurry.
He didn't seem to hear me at all, his focus being on reading some pages in a book he had found.
"Jasper?" I tried again, a little louder this time and his head shot up to me. That's when what I had said, I had used his real name. Not professional at all, luckily he didn't seem to notice my use of his name.
"Yeah?" he asked, his vision a little unfocused. He was probably still thinking about the book as he replaced it at the shelf.
"I need to escort you back now, the tour is unfortunately over" I said, his disappointment was seen clear as day and I almost changed my mind.
"Okay" he said quietly and strode past me to the wolves, he knelt beside them and whispered something.
I waited patiently for them by the door and they began striding towards me.
Jasper looked thoughtful and then he looked to me, obviously wanting to ask me something.
I waited some time but he never asked what he wanted to know "What is it?" I asked as the curiosity got the better of me.
He scratched the back of his neck, suddenly nervous making me even more curious. Why wouldn't he ask? What does he want to know that he don't dare asking?
"I just wondered if you will be at the ball tomorrow" he said after some time, avoiding eye contact.
Taken aback by the question I just stared at him some seconds and then a grin spread over my face.
When I didn't answer he looked up at me but when he saw my grin he blushed and looked back. That could only mean one thing, he wanted me to go and probably with him.
I hadn't planned to go but maybe I would reconsider now, seeing him like this at the thought of me being there.
My smirk grew wider as we stepped into the corridor and I had a hard time fighting it of and hiding it as the thoughts continued to distract me the rest of the day.
He strictly ignored me at dinner that day only making my smirk grow even wider and me even determined to fulfill my decision.
