Jasper

Anger coursed through my body as I steadily stared back at the furious man I had just tackled off of Ruby.

I knew I didn't have any right to interfere in her business but I couldn't control myself as I had followed the pair outside.

I had abonded my dance partner at the ball and followed Ruby and the man down the corridor only to found out he was leading her to the garden to probably do some innapropriate things in privacy.

Just as I had been about to turn around and convince myself I didn't have any right to interfere in her life I had seen that she tried to leave him and head upstairs, probably to her rooms, but he had pulled her with him as he had continued down the corridor to the garden.

That movement has been enough to make me decide I had the right to follow them just to make sure they both wanted to do this.

Then she had told him to let go off her and I had felt triumphant, she didn't want him. But immeadietly I had seen his grip tighten as he dragged her with him outside and closed the doors.

Waiting impatiently I had given then some seconds before I quickly had opened the doors and shut them behind me again as I had followed the sound of footsteps down the path.

When I had seen him on top of her, holding her down I had lost it all and leaped at him, tackling him to the ground.

I had given her a quick glance to see if she was okay and she seemed to be, if anything a little shocked but glad too, to see me.

The man looked furious as he dangerously stalked forward to me. I readied myself for a fight, he thought he could just claim whoever he wanted if they accepted his hand once.

He would learn he couldn't do exactly as he wanted and he couldn't get everything he wanted either.

Ruby jumped up from the ground and stood between us, stopping him in his tracks.

Her red long dress was dirty from her being pushed to the ground and her hair was filled with grass and a couple of leaves, she didn't seem to care though.

I couldn't see her face as her back was to me as she faced the man. "Back away now and no one will get hurt" she said tightly in a warning tone, she seemed to push back her anger but had issues as she was furious herself.

She's tough I knew she could handle herself but my instant reaction was to protect her and I didn't think that would change anytime soon.

She was obviously hating him for how he had treated her but tried to be reasonable as her position didn't give her much playroom in this issue.

I didn't had any doubt tough that she would bring him down and get him responsible off the days actions. She would probably look into it and see if he had done things like this before.

He had seemed to be familiar with her reaction as he had forced her down to the floor so I guessed he were accustomed by it and that made me uneasy.

Giggling suddenly erupted from behind me and we all turned to look down the path as two figures became clear.

They stopped when they noticed us and I recognized them as Carnelian, the prince and Jadeline, the girl I had met before.

She clung to his arm with a flirtatious smile and then she gave us all a irritated look as she seemed to dislike out interruption.

The prince wriggled out of her grasp, she seemed to have a pretty firm grip on him. He stood up properly as he assessed the scene in front if him.

"What is going on?" he asked forcefully, he changed glances with Ruby and the air suddenly felt tense. I didn't like the way they assessed each other, I don't think they liked each other too much.

Ruby straightened and I could see as she went into her captain mode "Don't worry your highness I have the situation under control. I will handle this matter, don't let us disturb your night" she said.

"Would you please follow me without resistance so we could figure this out" she said, taking a firm grip of the man and gesturing me forward.

Hesitantly I obeyed her and began walking. The prince looked like he wanted to say something as I passed him.

"Don't worry about this my prince, I'm taking care of it. Have a good night" Ruby said politely as she began following me. She didn't give the prince any room to protest as she ushered me on.

Walking back indoors I looked back to hear when she went trough the open doors.

Soldiers spotted us as we turned the corner and some if them immediately leaped into action, the others staying on their spots but they were undeniably curious about what was going on.

"Captain?" one guard said as he stepped in front. I stopped in my tracks and waited too see what her next step was, u was confused as things happened so fast and I didn't really know what was happening.

"Would you please escort Sir Hamill to his rooms, I think he needs a pause from the ball" she said and the guards nodded.

He gestured me to follow him and I did, feeling confused. What would happen to the man? Why weren't I allowed to go back to the ball?

I didn't ask any of my questions tough, just patiently followed the guard as he lead me upstairs and down some corridors, stopping outside my rooms.

I nodded and stepped inside as he turned and walked back down the corridors. The guards guarding the corridor seemed confused but didn't make a move.

What would happen now?
