Ruby
It had gone one week since I had been on the meadow alone with Jasper and the wolves.
One week since our kiss had been interrupted by an unknown thing in the forest. Or an unknown person should I say.
I had been in that area countless of times these last days, trying to find something, anything, that could indicate to what had been there.
The smell was human so I knew that someone had been there, someone had seen our kiss and it made me uneasy that I don't know who it was.
The trace had led to the castle but as it had blended it with many more I hadn't been able to make out to who it belonged to and I couldn't really go around and sniff everyone when I barely had control over my shifts and it was so many people here, especially on this time of the year when we have the competition.
Just think about what the person could to with this information? I hadn't even been able to track him or her down, the trace had just gone cold.
My shifts these last days had been more restless and made everyone that knows uneasy and I know that's because I'm nervous.
Even more people had been eliminated from the competition but Jasper is left, still balancing in-between everyone.
The king of the Power Kingdom hasn't yet decided if he wants to help me and he and his queen is just in the castle doing nothing.
My half brother Carnelian is still hanging with the high classed girls, especially the ones that has the best results in the competition.
He has also been hanging around me more often and follows me from time to time, he tries to find proof. He is trying to find out how I killed those people and why.
Soon he will find out if this keeps happening and if he can find proof then I'm dead.
Jadeline is still clinging onto him and she and her band of girls is giving me hateful looks, probably because they have realized I'm admired by many people here and they wants to be alone on the top of the list.
Mahogany is as awful as she always has been, she jumps at any chance she gets to humiliate me or throw me out of the castle but yet she hasn't been able to inflict too much damage.
Father is as caring as he can be and we have been spending a lot of time lately discussing about what needs to be done.
The Jasper front has been pretty much unmoving, not much have happened. I haven't talked too him's since the meadow but we have met at the trainings and at the dinners in the great dining hall.
I have noticed him staring at me but I have avoided his stares. It feels to risky to be around him when I don't know who had been watching us and I don't want to worsen the situation.
It's pretty hard not to though, every awake mine t is torture when I can't talk to him or touch him.
He is there but I can't do anything even if I want to. But soon I will find out that he has other plans, amazing my own to tiny pieces.
It knocks on the doors to my room and I stand up from the desk with the unread messages to open the doors.
Outside in the corridor I find a nervous looking Jasper with his three wolves close behind.
As soon as the door is open the little wolf runs inside and disappears somewhere in my room.
I just stare surprised at Jasper but he seems panicked at the little runaway and tries to call the wolf back.
Finally I gather myself enough to talk "J-Jasper? What are you doing here?" I ask, still surprised that he's here.
His attempts to get the little wolf back fails and he straighten up when he hears my voice. My breath catches in the throat when our eyes locks together and I stare into his mesmerizing golden brown eyes.
