"I just want to say I am so so sorry to Katie Gardner. I screwed up really really bad. But I want you to know, I'm sorry. Even if you don't want me back, just know that I will
always feel awful for what I've done to you."
She kept a poker face, but during my last line her face softened.
I walked down to her. "So what do you say?"
She smiled gently. "Oh Travis, I didn't know you still cared."
"There's just one thing you need to know. That Katie, she's dead."
And her face turned cold, and the color drained from mine.

I considered breaking out into What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, but then I remembered normal people don't do that.
"Travis, I'm not going to come running back after some five second heartfelt speech about how you screwed up. Go find some other trophy girl."
And then I walked out like a boss.
