Short Story - The Seal (_oneofthosehoodgirls ) (Will be added to Chasing Katie at some point)
"So Katie....." Travis slides up next to me as I walk to my cabin.
"What Travis?!" I snap, exhausted.
"I got you a present." He taunts teasingly.
I immediately look at him and his hands which are held behind his back, excited.
"So remember how you told me you only said yes to me about the whole fake dating thing because I looked like a baby seal?"
"Oh gods Travis..." I groaned. "Please tell me you didn't."
He grins even wider. "I did! I'm going to name him Bailey." He pulls an adorable seal out from behind his back.
I want to resist but.... "Oh give it to me." I gently take the seal from Travis's arms, stroking it.
"Oh you poor thing," I whisper. "You had to stay with Travis for who knows how long, but don't worry. We'll take you to the lake, and you won't have to see him anymore. Unfortunately, I do, being his girlfriend and all. I should have just said no and we'd both be out of this trouble."
"Hey!" Travis protested. "Stop conspiring against me."
I look up at him for half a second, then devote my attention to the seal again, murmuring and stroking it as we walk to the lake with Travis walking next to me, clearly jealous.
