Michelle approached us, and smiled seductively at Travis, causing his Adam's apple to bob.

She had some poor fool draped across her arm, and he frowned, looking between her and Travis.

I took my opportunity, and let go of Travis. "Travis, why don't you dance with Michelle while we," I gestured to me and her date, "get punch.."

Travis looked confused and sad for a moment, then realized the trick I was pulling.

He nodded, and pulled her into the dance floor.

I tried to ignore the sinking feeling in my stomach, and walked over to the refreshments table with the boy Michelle was with following me behind like a depressed puppy.

I grabbed a drink, took a sip, and spat it out immediately. It was so... so sweet. Blood curling sweet. And slightly alcoholic.

I had a suspicion that was not a certain kid from the Hermes cabin, but rather Aphrodite's way of getting people to reveal their true feelings.

I glanced at the dance floor again, and was surprised when Travis wasn't there.

"Would you care to join me for a dance?"

I did a double take. "Why are you asking me? What happened to Michelle?"

He just took my hand and led me onto the dance floor. "Coincidentally" a slow song started playing, and I pretended I hadn't just seen Lacy bribe the DJ.

Travis gently wrapped his hands  around my waist, and I rested mine upon his shoulders.

We slowly swayed in time with the music. I was looking at the other couples, thankful for the dark lighting to hide my blush. Travis was staring at me, making me feel kinda uncomfortable.

"Tr-Travis? What are you doing?" I said as he leaned into me, gently forcing my head into the crook of his neck.

"Resting." He said, acting as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

Thank the gods he couldn't see me, my face was brighter than a chili pepper.

But I allowed him to basically hug-dance me, and I felt strangely calm.

And then an annoying voice interrupted. "Travis, let's dance."

He jerked his head up, obviously irritated, but his voice softened when he realized it was Michelle. "Actually, I'm kinda tired, so-

He was cut off by Lacy. "Excuuuuse me Michelle but my ship has finally and sailed and if you get in the way of it I swear-

"You swear what? You're Aphrodite kid. You guys can't even make people fall in love. Face it, you can't do anything." Michelle replied in a snotty voice.

(You asked for this that_sad_fangirl_ )

And then she was promptly slapped by a daughter of Aphrodite.

An "ooooooh" went around the room.

Michelle stared at Lacy, and said, to everyone's surprise, "You're right. I'm sorry. Travis is dating Katie now, I need to move on."

She had a whole ballroom of surprised stares following her as her heels clicked against the hardwood floor while she walked out the door.

Lacy narrowed her eyes, and walked off.

I placed my hand on Travis's chest, "Travis, I need to make sure Lacy's alright."

He dimly nodded, looking like his mind was on something else.

•••

When I got outside, I saw a crying Lacy in the mud.

"Lacy? What happened?" I asked her as I rushed to her side to pull her up.

"I don't know." She said, sniffling.

I was furious. Lacy was such a sweet girl, who would want to hurt her?

"Do you think it was Michelle?"

She shook her head. "Nike children are just exceptionally good at everything. They can't make people fall in the mud like idiots."

I pulled her out and she attempted to shake some of the mud off.

"Come on, let's get you rinsed off."

•••

"Hey Travis?" I asked him dreamily as I lay on his stomach in the middle of the strawberry fields.

"Yes Kit Kat, for the fifth time today, I do need silence to concentrate." He said, making me giggle while he played with my hair.

"How long are we going to keep this up?"

He froze, my hair sliding out between his fingers.

"As long as it takes, Katie."

I persisted, refusing to let it go. "But she tried to get you to dance with her at the Aphrodite cabin's event."

He dropped his hand, and I missed the gentle tug of my hair. "We would have broken up in a week. I need her to need me. Just let it go Kates."

I tried to ignore the clenching of my stomach. "Ok..." I sighed.

"Anyways, whose turn is it to lead the activities this time?"

"The Dionysus cabin is hosting our next event."

"Do you know what they're doing?"

"They're keeping it a secret. You know, for dramatic purposes."

"Oh."

We fell into an awkward silence.

•••

"Kit Kat?"

I woke up looking into the eyes of Travis, who was leaning over me.

"It's time for dinner. You fell asleep."

"Oh." I smile awkwardly, and stand up, taking his hand.

To my surprise, he doesn't let go as we walk towards the dining area.

We take a seat at our respective tables just in time to see Chiron announce the activities for the week.

"We will be having a Capture the Flag game. The blue team will be led by Hermes-"

There was huge amount of cheers from the Hermes table.

"- and the red team will be led by the Demeter Cabin."

I felt a smile creep onto my face while Travis visibly paled.

He clearly still remembered our first game.

The Aphrodite cabin was rubbing their hands together, and my cabin was sharing a grin.

"Since we have an upcoming game, spend the time at the campfire making alliances."

And I began to devise Travis and Connor's destruction.

Sorry it took me so long to update, I kind of ran out of ideas. The next chapter will be the game.
