I've never liked fall. It's a time of death and depression.
But I was looking forwards to the fall dance.
Chiron and Mr. D host a lot of activities cause they know how boring all year camp can get.
They were always fun, even more so when you had someone to go with.
And a friend in the Aphrodite cabin who could hook you up.
"And..... done!" Lacy, said, clearly proud of herself. "And before I forget, since you're wearing a floor length dress...." she pulls at the edge of my dress revealing comfortable black uggs underneath. I grin up at her and she smiles, happy she made me happy.
And the Travis comes in, tugging uncomfortably at his suit, and I'm pretty sure a part of me just died.
Like holy shit.
Every time, I have a hard time believing he'll look good but.... damn
He smiles at me, and takes my arm. "You look really nice Katie."
I roll my eyes. "Glad you can finally say it without looking like a blushing stuttering mess."
He turns bright red.
Katie, one.

And Michelle, 500.
Our plan worked too well.
We arrived at the dance alright, Travis cracking a bunch of awful jokes.
But when we got there, I understood why Travis had chosen a white tie.
I suppose I though maybe he wanted to match subtly, but after seeing Michelle all that went out the window.
She looked so perfect.
Like a goddess.
Compared to her, I was nothing.
Then she walked toward us, and the crowd parted like the Red Sea.
"Hello Travis, would you care to dance?"
He looked at me, as if asking, and I nodded, releasing his arm. They went out on the floor, dancing like the golden couple they were.
I took a seat, fiddling with my dress, to which my face matched the exact shade of.
I felt Miranda take a seat next to me. She was beautiful, but all I could see was the empathy in her eyes. She asked me a silent question, and I nodded, ready to leave.
When I was almost out the door, a hand grabbed my shoulder.
"Kit Kat, where you going?" Travis asked, a line of concern creasing his forehead.
"Home Travis. You got what you wanted, do you really also need a dramatic break up scene?"
He looked even more confused. "Katie-"
Michelle interrupted. "Katie, he's my boyfriend now, so you can just leave."
I scoff and roll my eyes. "I'm leaving already. Stop trying to make everything about you."
Her voice rose a couple pitches. "I make everything about me?!?! At least I'm not going 'oh my boyfriend's dead' 'oh my Pegasus is dead' 'oh my best friend the traitor is dead-"
Insulting Selena was the last straw.
I punched her.
(A/N Is it wrong I'm cackling as I write this?)
Right in the face.
Let's see how beautiful she was with a black eye.
I would have made her whole face a bloody mess, but Travis was tending to her and Miranda was pulling me out of there.
Michelle taunted "You're just a wild animal Katie. One day you're gonna snap, and they'll send you off to a mental hospital."
To be fair, I was thrashing in Miranda's arms.
I might have ripped her head off.
If given the chance.
Probably.
