Haven't updated in so long in had to reread my last chapter 😅
This was going to far
I was falling in- in love with Travis Stoll
I'm supposed to be faking it
Way to screw this one up Katie
"Katie, you ok?" Travis asks me, concerned.
I give him my best fake smile. "I'm fine."
He looks into my eyes, then shrugs and goes back to talking to Connor.
He's too good of an actor.
I lean my head on his should, and feel him stiffen up.
Maybe not as good as I thought.
But he's more comfortable than the car door, so I can deal.
We are heading to my grandfathers house like we always do for the week of thanksgiving. He's senile, he really shouldn't be living alone but Miranda and I let him since "it's the only freedom he has left."
But since Travis and I are fake dating, Miranda suggested I bring him with me. It's a good idea, but I think she really just wanted some alone time with Connor.
"Grandpa? We're home!" Miranda called out gently, using her key to let herself in.
The lights are on in all the rooms. It's not a huge house, but it's a simple suburban house and the neighbors check in on him occasionally.
He hurried out of the living room, his eyes wide. "Good, good. The hatchlings return to the nest." Grandpa was a rather old man, with pale skin and a white mass of hair. Unlike most older people, he never seemed to lose his hair. He might even still be considered handsome if not for his crazy hair and wild eyes.
"How are you Grandpa?" I ask him, my eyes searching for any type of bruises or wounds.
He smiles and grabs my hand, his dry leathery skin quite different from my smooth skin. "The stars say hello Katie. They say they are proud." He turns to Travis shaking his hand, leaving me in shock. "Ah good to see the thief and his double. The clock shall never rewind, yet we fight the tick of time. Every soul has its match, even if some hide their love. And don't forget!" He leaned in to whisper something in Travis ear.
"Don't mind him." Miranda warned. "If you haven't noticed, he's senile."
Grandpa glared at her. "I'm no more crazy then the sun. And he blurts out random shit all day!"
Miranda soothes him and leads him into the living room with Travis and Connor following.
I'm still standing there, in shock.
The stars say hello
Percy told us about what happened with Bob but...
Zoë is now a constellation. Is it possible?
"Grandpa?" I ask, joining the others. I lean against the doorframe in the living room. What else did the stars say?"
The twins stare at me and Miranda shoots me a glare.
"Hmmm" he paused for a moment, stroking an imaginary beard. "Screw the dove, do what makes you happy. Oh and they miss you but you need to live. And the Jack is not the worst Match."
The second sentence made some sense.
Miranda grabbed me and dragged me into the dining room. "He's crazy Katie. He's making shit up."
I sigh. "I know," I say, lazily tracing my finger across the counter.
She grabs my chin, forcing me to look at her. "He's crazy. Give it up."
I nod firmly. He's crazy.
Making it all up...Ok so I'm doing chapters around 500 words now so I can publish more often and feel better about myself 😜
