I stared in awe around me. We were in a beautiful living room, with book shelves all around.

Katie stood awkwardly in the middle of the room. "What do you think?"

I took a step closer to her, smiling. "It's amazhang."

She grinned softly back at me. I only realized then how much I missed her, everything about her.

How she'd grin when I did something stupid and slap me on the arm, how she would smile sweetly and then insult me so badly I wanted to crawl into a hole and cry, how she'd stiffen up uncomfortably around Michelle, how when she decided something, it would happen.

I missed her so much it hurt. So badly.

She was looking into my eyes, scanning them. She seemed to find what she was looking for and relaxed.

I realized we had subconsciously stepped closer to each other, and I could feel her breath. I was leaning in to kiss her when-

Just kidding, nothing happened.

Our lips made contact, and it was just like every time I'd kissed her before. But it was over quickly, as she jerked back, fear in her wide eyes.

What was she afraid of?

I didn't have time to ponder the question, as she squealed in joy as her favorite pair of gardening gloves came back, hovering in the air.

I cleared my throat. "Uh Katie about what just happened-"

But she was already gone, leaving me hoping I could find a way out.
