Hello :) one-shots as promised. These are a sort of continuation of my last fan fiction 'Saviour of Ashes'. I guess they can be read separately if you haven't checked that one out. Please enjoy. I had to move the original first chapter as I really wanted to include this but had to research it first.
Aelin and her court had just arrived back at the castle. Darrow and the other Lords were waiting for her, a messanger standing beside them. He held a wooden box.
"Majesty," the Lords bowed.
"Is there a problem?" Rowan asked, the crown gleaming in the sunlight.
"The Little Folk gained attention from centre of each city in Terrasen," Lord Edamond explained.
The messanger bowed and presented Aelin with the wooden box. She carefully lifted the lid and stared at its contents.
A bright red flower laid against the velvet casing.
"We are blessed!" One of the other Lords cried.
"They have been found everywhere in Oakwalds Forest, Majesty," the messanger told Aelin. "The Little Folk have been leaving them as gifts from the second you were crowned Queen."
Darrow grunted and stepped forward. He bowed to her and Rowan and said, "I was wrong to have doubted you when you first arrived in Terrasen. It seems that you are as blessed as Orlon was during his rule - perhaps even more so."
Aelin picked the flower out of it's box. She could smell it's sweet, enticing scent without sniffing it. She handed it to Darrow. "Put it with Orlon's," she ordered. "Every single one in future rule must be placed there. So future rules will see a glass table covered in them and know what is expected of them."
Darrow nodded and took the flower.
Aelin and Rowan headed past the Lords and into the castle. She pushed open the banquet hall's doors and turned to Rowan.
Her mate lifted her up and spun her around.
Kingsflame had bloomed at the start of her rule. And not a single Kingsflame but a whole bunch of them - which were now scattered around Terrasen.
Gods-blessed indeed.
