Also, my old desk that I was going to throw away as soon as I could get another one was brought back to life when I had the idea to paint the desk so even if it went wrong it wouldn't matter as I'd be getting rid of it.
I am now no longer getting rid of my desk as it turned out quite well. I'm not an artist or a painter and dont claim to be, but as someone who shakes when having to paint very carefully, I did a good job.

Update: I have now varnished it and the lines where the colour blurs blends in better.
