Rowan and Aelin had been gone for three days now. Aedion and Lysandra were in charge of looking after the young princess. Fenrys had been putting off his visit until he woke up this morning and curiosity got the better of him.

Aedion was too busy snarling at him. Lysandra, who's bump was now beginning to show, leant back in the chair opposite him.

"I just want to find out what the bond is," he pleaded to Lysandra. She cocked her head, just like Aelin does, her dark hair falling onto her shoulder.

"Get out," Aedion growled for the hundredth time.

Lysandra sighed. "I have no problem with it, Fenrys," she said and his heart skipped a beat. "I really don't - but I think it's best we wait until Aelin and Rowan get home."

"Aelin won't mind," Fenrys argued. "Like she said about Evangeline-" Aedion growled again - "let Luca get to know her."

"It's not Aelin I am worried about," Lysandra admitted and bit her lip.

"Rowan would not be happy with any of us," Aedion agreed.

"Please-"

"Fenrys?" a small voice asked from behind them.

They turned to see Elentiya standing in the doorway. They all smiled at the princess. Elentiya skipped towards them. Lysandra's cup of water exploded. Aedion stared at the soaked table and then at his niece. Lysandra chuckled.

"Perhaps," Lysandra said, "Fenrys could help practise your control, Elentiya?"

Aedion shot his wife a glare as Elenitya giggled and nodded. Fenrys sighed with relief. If he could get the princess to shift and have the slightest control over her magic then he could find out if it was carranam that bonded them - or if it was something greater.

*************MEANWHILE***********

Aelin ducked as Rowan's fist flew towards her face. She was panting now. They had been training for hours. She had loved every second of it. Since Elentiya was born seven years ago, Aelin's training hadn't been as strong as it once was. But it was strange how after an hour her body remembered and she continued for the rest of the afternoon.

Rowan was panting too. They had started with swords but then they had found that too easy. Aelin sent out a fireball towards his chest, which he used his own magic to snuff out. But he didn't see the one that landed on his back. He let out a sound that was half a growl and half a laugh.

He used his wind magic to sweep her legs out from under her with a gale-force breeze. She landed on her back in a pile of snow. The snow instantly melted.

Rowan's steps faltered. "I think that's enough," he said breathlessly. "You're burning up."

She rolled in the snow to indeed cool down her body. But it was all just a performance as she scooped up a snowball and threw it in his face.

He growled and pinned her to the floor. "You're cheating when you pretend, milady."

Aelin's smile was wild. "You cheated - working on some new moves? Nice touch with the wind knocking my legs out."

He bowed his head, his lips coming close to her. "I am glad it pleases you."

She poked his chest. "Buzzard."

He scooped up a handful of snow and Aelin squeaked. She melted it with a quick command to her fire just as it neared her face. Rowan chuckled, kissed her gently on the lips and said, "There are other ways to make snow melt."

Aelin's body tensed in delight and sweet surprise as Rowan kissed her again.

***************BACK HOME************

"Let them train for two hours," Lysandra said to Aedion. "Then you can go and collect them for dinner."

Aedion nodded. "Rowan won't like it. Not just that whole bond thing - but the fact that another male is training his little girl instead of him."

Lysandra rose from her chair and walked towards her husband. "But Rowan is with Aelin. He won't mind too much because his woman is with him."

Aedion turned to her. "Aelin is no woman."

"Indeed," Lysandra smiled. Aedion wrapped his arms around his wife and their child-to-be. "They deserve their little holiday."

"So do you," he said and kissed her head.

"With Aelin not making me run errands, I am on holiday," she said and he huffed a laugh into her hair. "I wonder what they are doing right now."

"Probably training - probably at each other's throats, knowing my cousin," Aedion said and placed a hand on Lysandra's stomach.

"Also knowing Aelin, she would be doing wild things - completely free, if only temporarily."

Aedion pulled back from his wife. He met her green eyes. "Dance with me," he whispered.

"What, here?" she looked at the table and chairs. "There isn't any music either."

He shrugged. "I'll sing to you."

Aedion began one of Terrasen's old songs, any written form of it had been lost all those years ago, as he took Lysandra's hand and danced with his wife.

Bit longer this time, hope it makes up for the last short one. So, I am going on a road trip over the next week and might be unable to update. I MIGHT - that's a very big might - be able to update on the car journeys (and even if I do they'll probably be short chapters). So please forgive me for that and don't wait around for an update just in case. But anyways, thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this chapter.

Thank you to for helping me out with this idea :)(:
