First of all, I would like to talk about Lorcan and his crawling. We all were wondering how he was going to redeem himself - but he was actually crawling towards Aelin. He was trying to help her.  Elide was mad over nothing - we were mad over nothing.

Poor, poor Rowan. He really managed his worries ok but imagine having to go through that? His mate locked in an iron box, not sure if his own diversion to save her will hurt her more.

Aelin! Freeing herself from Cairn and Maeve, fighting until the end. I am so glad she kept blacking out from the pain because I can't even imagine going through the slightest thing that she went through. But even so, our heroine saved herself (and then had help from the males).

(I know this is kind of quick but I'm at work).

Aedion - I really hated him for what he said to Lysandra and for throwing her out into the snow naked. I cannot believe he would say that just because she didn't tell him she was helping Aelin and Terrasen. I think Aedion needs to prove to Lysandra that he realises how lucky he is because, damn, that shifter. She fought in the front lines and tried so hard. She was even going to sacrifice herself (as Aelin, and cos she couldn't fight like Aelin) just to keep the hopes up of the soldiers. And yet Aedion still called her useless. I know they make up in the end, but still. Aedion knew he was being  horrible and didn't care until it suited him. (my opinion feel free to disagree).

Ok, Dorian and Manon. I feel like Dorian has developed a bit more in KoA. I just didn't like reading his parts (or Aedion's) in between Aelin and Rowan because their chapters were always left on a cliffhanger and we'd have to wait like another few chapters before we found out what happened to them.

Manon - I feel so sorry for her that she lost the Thirteen. I was expecting to maybe lose Asterin or Sorrel, but not all Thirteen. That just... I had to re read it to make sure I had got it right. Imagine losing all your family :(

Lysandra - now she is inspirational. Everything she has done throughout the book, how hard she has fought, has made her a great role model. Whilst we all knew Aelin was great even as Celaena she was the best assassin. But Lysandra was just amazing in KoA.

Evangeline - who knew the young ward could melt Darrow's heart? That was nice touch.

Fenrys - I honestly thought he would die (he almost did). It was so sad when his twin killed himself. Do you think Connal really hated Fenrys or just said that cos Maeve had told him to secretly (even though she told him to speak freely)? It was a shame we didn't get to know him more.

Gavriel -  :'(    he was one of my contenders to die. I thought Fenrys, then Lorcan, then Gavriel. But it was the Lion. I wished him and Aedion had the chance to get to know each other better, especially since Gavriel was a good guy (except what he did to Aedion's mother, although he wasn't aware of it). No more Uncle Kitty-Cat.

Elide - I like how she made good friends with Yrene and finally forgave Lorcan ( HA! Lord Lorcan Lochan!)

Chaol - I'm happy that he gets to be a father and that he's grown within the series and didn't hold Yrene back. I know that he and Aelin were ok, like she hugged him and wished him all the best. But I still don't like him. When Aelin and Dorian were about to sacrifice themselves, he only cared that Dorian came back and there was a moment where he wasn't going to care about Aelin but only cos Rowan was there he did. That annoyed me cos Aelin has sacrificed so much, and yes he should be happy his friend survived but then was not time. Not in front of Rowan. (I am doing this from memory right now and I just remember there was a line in that scene that made me go "oh, Chaol's happy cos Dorian's back, but what about Rowan, huh Choal?"

Yrene - I'm glad the healer was brave and not a shy person that kept out of the way. But I feel like because she defeated Erawan, everything Aelin did (everything we've all been through) was overshadowed by Yrene. I was expecting them to chant "Aelin!" not "Yrene!" but then I guess the unexpected makes it better. But I still feel like Aelin didn't get enough recognition for what she's done.

Abraxos almost died! That part scared me cos SJM could easily have killed him off and it came so close! I don't think Manon could have handled losing both the Thirteen and Abraxos.

Fleetfoot returned. He was safe and alive.  Could have done with a little more of the dog in the book but war is no place for a dog.

Elena and the gods - I cannot believe Elena is gone. After Aelin even bartered with them and then they betrayed Aelin and Erelia. Seems like Mala is the only reliable one.

I hope Aelin can feel comfortable in her fae body one day and get used to the small amount of power she has left (I hope you're happy, Chaol. All that talk you made saying what checks are there against Aelin's power and now its hardly there).

So, Aelin saw Rhys and Feyre. Feyre was pregnant and Rhys helped Aelin. He was trying to slow her down. I wonder if we will see that in the next ACOTAR series book (even though its about Nesta) it'd be cool to read that.

I am so very happy Maeve is dead.

Sort of wanted to meet Erawan's brothers. Sort of didn't.

Checklist:

Rowaelin reunited - check

Elide & Lorcan -  check

Aedion & Lysandra - check

Erawan dead

Maeve dead

Fenrys freed

Cairn dead

Gate is sealed without Aelin or Dorian being dead

Aelin crowned Queen of Terrasen (and Faerie Queen of the West - all the fairytales are now in ToG)

What I still want to see:

* Yrene & Chaol's baby (and it's name)

* Rowan &  Aelin have the wedding they deserve

* Elide & Lorcan's wedding

* Erelia rebuilt

* Aelin's life now she's Queen

* Rowaelin babies

* Lysandra living in Carravere

* Sam / Nhemia appearing to Aelin (to correct the goodbye she should have had the chance to say)

* Manon & the Wastes

* Dorian as King (yes, he was King but I mean actually see him rule)

* Everyone back together for Yulemas

There is still another book SJM could write for us if she really wanted to.

If I have forgotten anything that you want to talk about drop it in the comments I'll reply when I can (again I'm at work).

I loved Kingdom of Ash and am happy everything came full circle. I would not have minded to see the rest of that like I said. But it excited me, worried me, made me tearful, made me laugh. 5*****stars.
