Chapter 1.

My name is Alexander Lightwood and I'm 18 years old. All my life I have been living in my siblings shadow but when I accidentally "came out" to my family, everything changed. Since my father is homophobic, I couldn't stand living under the same roof as him when he everyday gave me death glares. It became too much. I'm glad that my sister, Isabelle, accepted me for who I was, but I just with that the rest of my family did too. Anyways, all that is in the past now. At the moment, I'm studying at a college in New York and honestly, I couldn't be more happy. It's a perfect school with amazing teachers. My roommate though, he's an ass. His name is Sebastian (has no connection to the Sebastian in the show. Basically, it's not the same person) and he's a total douche. He's hot though and I guess that makes up for every stupid thing he has been saying to me. That's pretty much my life. I wake up, I go to class, and then I go back to my dorm where I study or sleep. It doesn't get more fun than that. Currently, I was sitting in the library and studying for my upcoming math test next week. Well, I wouldn't really call it studying since I was more into my favourite novel than I was into the math book (that I was supposed to read). The novel is written by Stephan King and it's called Pet Cemetery. The novel itself is pretty creepy and it often gives me goosebumps, but at the same time, I love it so much. I was so into the novel that I barely noticed the number that was written in the top of page 367, but when my eyes caught glimpses of numbers, I felt slightly confused. Is the number supposed to be written in the novel, or has some douche left it there, hoping to get laid? No matter what case, it made me confused, but also very interested. Who could the owner of the number be? Did it belong to someone at the campus, or did it secretly belong to some serial killer? I didn't get to think about it any longer because someone was poking my shoulder. When I turned my attention towards the annoying person that just had to touch me, my eyes met with Freya, the schools liberian
- The library is closing now. It's time for you to leave, she said and gave me what I assume, a comforting smile
- Yeah, okay, I answered
I packed my stuff that I had placed all over the table and left with the novel pressed against my chest. 10 minutes later and I arrived at my dorm. I could hear singing coming from the inside which made me sight. Sebastian thinks he's going to be the next Justin Bieber, but I have told him over a hundred times that he sucks. He's a bad listener, I guess. Once inside, I went to our shared bathroom and changed into my pyjamas, brushed my teeth and washed my face. I took a quick look in the mirror and flashed a smile, mostly because I can. Now you may wonder, how does the famous (not) Alexander Gideon Lightwood look? Well, I'm extremely tall, at least for my age. I have jet black hair and my eyes are blue. I'm pretty pale and I'll probably remind you of a vampire. As many may think, I don't look like the typical gay stereotype. Honestly, I only wear black clothes, sometimes grey if I'm feeling frisky. I don't talk like gay people either and I certainly ain't shopping. If you look at me, you wouldn't even think that I actually am a homosexual. Anyways, after I left the bathroom, I walked into my bedroom (the dorm is pretty big. We have two bedrooms, one living room, one bathroom and one kitchen) and laid down on my bed where I almost immediately fell asleep.
