Chapter 34.

Christmas had finally arrived at I was waiting patiently for Magnus to wake up. The clock was around 9am and have been awake for almost two hours. I can't really say that Christmas has been one of my favourite holidays, but I guess that was before I got myself a wonderful boyfriend. Now I can't wait for Magnus to wake up so we can spend the whole morning together and then celebrate the rest of the day with my crazy family. Anyhow, since I'm not the most patient person in the world, and I really don't like to wait, I decided to try to get Magnus to wake up a little bit faster.
- Magnus, wake up, I said while I dragged my fingers through his hair
He stirred in his sleep and I could see how he tried to hide himself.
- Don't you want to celebrate Christmas? I asked and laughed
- It's too early to be alive, Magnus answered in a raspy voice
- You're adorable
- Tell me something that I don't know, my dear Alexander
Magnus had still not opened his eyes and since I was beyond bored, I laid myself over him and hugged his waist.
- Alec, what are you doing? Magnus asked and I could feel how he tried to move under the weight of my body
- I'm cuddling, I answered
- No, you're crushing me
- Well, I'm not going to get off until you decide to wake up
- Why are you so stubborn? Fine, I'll wake up, Magnus answered
I laughed out loud because damn, I have the most adorable boyfriend in the world. Since he agreed to wake up, I rolled off him and sat up in the bed.
- Merry Christmas, I whispered and smiled down at Magnus
- Merry Christmas, he whispered back
The morning passed by pretty fast. We had amazing breakfast together and we had even bought each other presents. How relationship goals isn't that? When the time came for us to leave my dorm, I was wearing a black pair of jeans and a grey sweater. I'm not really the one who dresses up in all red for a holiday, especially since I'm not really owning something that is red. Pretty all of my clothes are either black or grey. Magnus in the other hand, was wearing a black pair of jeans with a dark red sweater that fitted his muscles perfectly.
- Are you ready? I asked when we finally sat beside each other in the taxi that would take us to my family home
- Yeah, Magnus answered and smiled
We arrived at my house after about a 50 minutes ride and when we stepped out of the taxi, Isabelle came running towards us. She was wearing a red dress that in my opinion, was too short, but like always, she looked stunning.
- Merry Christmas! She almost screamed and hugged the two of us
- Same to you, I answered and smiled
- I'm so glad that you guys could be here with us. Trust me, I love mum and dad a lot, but celebrating Christmas alone with them would have been terrible, Izzy said
- We're happy to be here, Magnus said and smiled at my little sister
The three of us walked together into the house where we met Clary and Jace. Both of them was wearing something red and I could tell that Clary somehow had made Jace wear it because if I know my brother right, he hates wearing clothes that aren't black or grey.
- You guys look amazing, Clary said and hugged the two of us
- You too, Clarissa. Stunning like always, Magnus answered and smiled
- I'm really happy that you guys could make it. Izzy was a little bit nervous that you wouldn't, Jace said and laughed
- She can be pretty overdramatic sometimes, I answered
- You're damn right about that
I could hear footsteps coming closer to where the four of us were standing and when I turned around, my mother came walking towards us.
- Alec, Magnus, it's lovely to see you guys again. How are you? She asked
- Really good, I answered
- It's lovely to see you too, Mrs Lightwood. You look amazing, Magnus said and smiled at my mum
- Thank you, Magnus. I assume that you would like to speak to Robert?
- Yeah
- Well, he's in the kitchen. Feel free to go and talk to him whenever you want to, mum said and smiled
- I will, thank you, Magnus answered
Mum walked away after a couple of seconds and I turned my attention towards Magnus.
- Do you want me to follow you when you're going to talk to dad? I asked
- I think I'll be okay, don't worry
- If he gets ride, call for me and I'll be there faster than the speed of lightning
- Sounds good, Magnus answered
He kissed my cheek and after that, he walked away to what I assume, the kitchen. If I'm going to be honest, I was worried that he was going to talk to my dad. I know that dad said the last time we were here that he respected our relationship, but I don't know. What if he has regretted his decision?
- Hey, don't be so nervous. Robert isn't going to kill him or something, Jace said when he saw the look on my face
- I can't help it, I answered
- How is he doing? Magnus? Clary asked and looked at me
- A lot better. It's going to take a while for him to get happy for real, but with Raphael gone, it's going to get easier for everyday, I said
- That's good to hear
I was just about to answer when I heard how my dad called for me to come into the kitchen.
- Shit, I whispered under my breath
- You got this, Jace said and gave me one of his supportive smiles
I took a deep breath and walked into the kitchen where Magnus and my dad were standing in each sides of the room.
- What's going on? I asked
- You lied to me, dad answered and I could hear on his voice that he was beyond furious
- Excuse me?
- H-he told me that my f-father isn't dead, that Raphael lied, Magnus stuttered
- What? I asked
- Do you guys have any idea what you have done? I defended a liar in court! I can lose my job because of this!
- Wait, can we take a couple of steps back and start from the beginning. What do you mean that Magnus father isn't dead? Raphael told him that, face to face, I said and felt extremely confused
- My coworker called this morning and said that the murder never happened, that Nicolas Bane is alive and living an hour outside of New York, dad answered
- I-I need some air. I can't breathe, Magnus said and I saw how he was struggling with keeping himself together
- Hey hey hey, calm down. Take deep breaths, okay? I said and put my hands on his shoulders
- How could Raphael do this to me? What did I do to deserve this?
- Magnus, I need you to calm down. Can you do that? I asked
- No no no no, I can't. This is not happening. Alec, I feel like I'm dying, Magnus answered with tears streaming down his cheeks
- The two of you should leave, my dad suddenly said
- Are you serious? Magnus is having a freaking panic attack and you're tellings us to leave? I angrily asked
- I don't care. He's a liar and if you're on his side, neither of you have anything to do in this house
- Fine, we'll leave, you son of a bitch
I grabbed Magnus arm and dragged him out of the kitchen, further into the living room and thereafter, out of the front door. Since I was so furious, I wasn't attentive on how Magnus was doing, but when we came out to the porch, he fell down to the ground.
- Magnus!
- I-I can't do this, Alexander. My chest hurts so much and it feels like I can't breathe, Magnus said and the tears kept on coming like there was no tomorrow
- Yes you can. You're the strongest person I ever met. Magnus, I love you, I answered and sat down beside him
I put my arms around him and felt how his whole body was shaking. If I'm going to be honest, it hurt so much to see the man I love like this, in so much pain.
- M-my father is alive, he lives in New York, Magnus stuttered
- We'll find him. Do you hear me?
- No, I can't do this anymore. I'm sorry, Magnus answered and looked at me with so much pain in his eyes
- What are you talking about?
- Alexander, I'm breaking up with you
- W-what? I stuttered
- Can't you see it? My whole life is a joke. I don't even  know what's true or false anymore. People are lying to me, only to see me in pain. You're father is probably going to lose his job because of me and if he does, he's going to kill me. I'm sorry, but I can't do this. Alexander, you deserve so much better, Magnus answered
- Magnus, please. We can fix this
- I'm sorry
Magnus stood up from where the two of us were sitting and just like that, he started walking. My whole body was numb and even if I wanted to, I couldn't run after him. Tears were streaming down my cheeks and it felt like someone kept stabbing me over and over with a knife in my chest.
- Alec! What's happening? Where's Magnus?
I looked up and saw how Izzy came running towards me. She sank down on the ground beside me and threw her arms around me.
- He left, I answered
- What?
- Magnus left, he left me

Okay so this chapter started out really adorable but in the end, I made myself cry. What do you guys think will happen? Will Alec and Magnus find their way back to each other? Is Magnus dad really alive, and if he is, is Magnus going to find him? Comment what you think😀
