TLH: Chapter 11

Eunica's POV

Nakatanga lang ako at hindi ko matapos tapos yung trabaho ko. Hindi pa din ako makapag concentrate. Hindi ko alam kung bakit.

At isa pa, first time ata na hindi mainit ang ulo ni Sir?

Psh, baka wala lang yun.

Lunch time na natapos ako sa ginagawa ko. Patayo na ako ng biglang bumukas yung pintuan ni ng boss ko.

As if on cue, bigla akong napatigil sa pagtayo. At kumalabog ng mabilis nanaman yung puso ko.

Bakit ganu'n? Abnormal na ba 'tong puso ko? Nararamdaman ko na na papalapit na si Sir sa akin. At yung puso ko, hala siya sa pagkabog.

Huminga muna ako ng malalim bago humarap sa dadaanan ko papunta sa break room.

Pagkaharap ko, pareho kaming nagulat nung nagtama yung mga mata namin.

I, once again locked between his dark grey eyes.

Pero mas nagulat ako nung nakatingin na pala siya sa akin. Biglang sumagi nanaman sa isip ko yung panaginip ko. Ang weird talaga.

Magsasalita na sana ako pero biglang nag-iwas ng tingin ito at naglakad na papaalis.

Nagtataka man ako eh nagawa ko pa din maglakad papunta sa break room.

Na-weweirduhan na talaga ako. Ano na bang nangyayari? Psh. Gutom lang siguro 'to. Makakain na nga lang.

Ivan's POV

"Dude, you should have come last night! Ang daming chicks!"

I still can't get over. Was it all a daydream? Geez. What's happening to me? I'm not like this.

I don't daydream.

Idagdag mo pa yung kanina. Nagkatitigan kami. My eyes was locked to her hers. I couldn't get on my feet that time!

When she was about to speak, tsaka lamang ako nagkaroon ng lakas na makaalis.

"Oh and there's this girl. Man! She's so hot! Hahaha"

There's a side of me that still can't believe that it's just a daydream. A freaking daydream.

God! Man up Ivan! you're not like this because you've never been!

"Ivan?"

Tila nagbalik lang ako sa realidad nung tinawag ako ni Luke. I almost forgot that I was with my friends.

"Ah yes? Ano nga yun?" Sagot ko.

But he just gave me a questioning look.

"Dude. Kanina pa ako nagsasalita hindi ka naman pala nakikinig."

I cursed inside me.

"Are you okay, Ivan?" si Clarisse with her worried tone.

I just looked at her then to Luke.

"Tss. Just repeat what you've said." Sabi ko at tinuloy ang pagkain ko.

"No thanks. Think you're not interested. So, tell me is this about a girl?"

Halos maibuga ko na yung kinakain ko. Mabuti na lang at inabutan ako ng tubig ni Clarisse.

"Thanks." Sabi ko kay Clarisse. "And no Luke! Could you just shut up?" Sabi ko naman kay Luke.

"Pfft. Why so defensive, Matheo?" Mapang-asar na sabi ni Mike na may ngisi pa sa labi. Psh.

I looked at him sharply. "I'm not being defensive, Mike."

Emphasizing the NOT word. Because it's true!

"Oh yeah. You're not being defensive." Sarkastikong sabi nito.

I just rolled my eyes upward. Geez this people.

"Maybe it's because of someone. And not just any girl" says Clarisse. Tsk isa pa 'to.

"It's not about her. Don't just mind me."

"Baka naman in love na 'tong kaibigan natin?" Si Luke sabay akbay sa akin. Tss malas ko at katabi ko pa 'tong kutong lupa na 'to.

"Tss, I don't fall in love. And I'm not in love with her."

"Maybe you are saying you are not but the truth is, you really are?" Clarisse.

"Yeah you've got a point there, sweetheart." Luke.

Clarisse just rolled her eyes. And Mike turned on to me.

"Baka naman na-chachallenge ka lang? Or maybe threaten" Mike.

"Tss. Will you three shut up? I'm not in love and mostly, I'm not threatened by Eunica. She's just a lame secretary. End of discussion." Maanghang na sabi ko. Psh, pinaiinit nitong mga 'to ang ulo ko.

"Who says we're talking about Eunica?" Mike with a smirk on her face.

And it felt like a bomb exploded. Darn!

"Bingo" Clarisse at pinagpatuloy ang pagkain na parang walang nangyari.

"Gotcha, lover boy." Natatawang sabi ni Luke.

Oh, God these people! Damn!

"Oh, please! Are you really my friends?" Iritable ng sabi ko at tinawanan lang ako ng mga magagaling kong kaibigan.

Geez! I'm not inlove with Eunica!

I'm not!

Said by the other side of my mind.

"Brighton Bar later. 8PM" Sabi ko sakanila at tumayo na.

I need to clear my mind. Damn!
