I casually knock on the door and enter, pretending that I didn't see anything. Aubrey quickly stands up from her seat next to Randy."Sorry I forgot my phone." I say and slide it in my back pocket once I find it on the table. "How's the paper going?" I ask staring at both of them, giving them a chance to tell me if there's anything between them.
"We're finished already, let's go." Aubrey says grabbing my arm and pulling me outside.
"That fast huh?" I ask sarcastically.
"You saw us didn't you?" She asks, without denying.
"Whatever do you mean?" I tease her.
"Come on Hannah."
"Yeah I saw you." I laugh. "How long has this been going on?"
She sighs. "Well, it's been a few weeks. I really like him." She smiles.
"That's great Aubrey, but why are you keeping it a secret?"
"I guess I wanted to make sure he really likes me too. I'm really defensive and I don't wanna set my self for a broken heart."
"And does he like you?" I ask.
"Yeah. He does." She blushes.
"Why did you think he likes me though?" I question her.
"You heard that too, I'm sorry Han, it's just ever since you started working together on the newspaper, you've become so close."
"I'm with Diego Aubrey why would you think that? Randy and I are just close, like he said he's like a brother to me. I've known him since we were kids, we've all known each other since we were kids. I guarantee you if he said he likes you then he does." I reassure her.
"Thank you." She says and hugs me.
We both walk to our class and the rest of the day goes by fast until the school is empty and I make my way to the newsroom. I see Nolan and Mandy laughing inside and with a confused reaction I open the door and walk inside. I place my bag on the table next to my desk. They don't notice me at all and keep talking.
"No way Scream is way better than the Halloween franchise." Nolan says.
"Oh come on, Michael Myers is a classic." Mandy argues.
"Excuse me, what about Ghostface?" Nolan says throwing his arms in the air in exclamation.
I clear my thought and they both snap their heads to my direction.
"Hey." They say in unison.
"Please don't tell me you guys are talking about horror movies while we're being hunted down by a masked killer of our own." I say.
"Sorry." Mandy quickly apologises. "We were just talking about the movies."
"I know, the exact same movies the killer has made his mask from."
