For the first time tonight, I feel safe. I don't know if it's the situation we're in and the fact that we might die but, I am extremely attracted to him right now. We finally part lips when my phone rings in my pocket and interrupts us. At least that way, I feel some sort of confort and forget what's happening, where we are, for a few minutes. I mentally curse from having to remove my lips from his, and take out my phone.
"Wait I don't even have my phone." I say as I realise Amy collected all our phones.
Diego takes out his phone and we see it ringing.
"How do you have your phone?" I ask.
"I don't." He says. "It's the phone the killer left."
I snatch it away from his hands and put it to my ear as I hit accept. "Why didn't you kill us?" I gritt my teeth as anger rises in me again.
"Don't be disappointed Hannah, I'm coming for you now that, I promise. I can't have a big finale with the final girl being dead before the show is over."
"You fucking psycho what game are you playing?" Diego yells.
The killer laughs, hearing Diego's outburst. "I see you two have quite the chemistry. Too bad it's not gonna last."
"You keep hiding behind that mask and these phone calls. Why don't you come here and show yourself. Huh?" He continues.
"Diego calm down." I cup his face and turn it towards me.
"Aw. How adorable." The killer coos.
"If you're not gonna kill us then why not let us go." I say.
"I never said I'm not going to kill you. It's just not your time yet. But it's somebody else's." And as he says that the song plays again.
"What does this mean? Who is next?" I yell through the phone, tugging at my hair from the anger and shut my eyes closed.
"Tick tock." He says and hangs up again.
"Damn it." I yell. "I can't know who it is, not the way he talks or that stupid voice he's using. This is driving me insane. My friends are dying and I'm useless."
"Hey hey, it's okay." Diego takes me in his arms and wraps me in a hug. I burry my face in his shoulder and he rests his chin on the top of my head and caresses my hair all the way down to my back and I actually feel myself start to relax. He then cups my cheeks when I lift up my head to look at him. "Let's go find Nolan and Aubrey and the others and get the hell out of here." He nods and so do I.
We search the whole floor but all the rooms are empty and there's no sign of anyone or the killer. We make it to the second floor and then the first and still no sign of anyone. Then, the elevator dings and we hide around the corner of the hallway and hear footsteps approaching. And when they reach closer to us, Diego and I trip them over and prepare to hit them with a new set of mops we got from the closet. But before doing so, the source of the footsteps yells.
